He is a middle and they are edge players. So it’s irrelevant, as we needed to replace an edge player.
The eels can offer him something we can’t, the chance to start at 13. That was never going to happen if he stayed at Penrith.
I don't think we won with relative ease. And there is always an element of luck and fate involved in winning a premiership.
We didn't rest players and yet won the hard games and won the premiership. Teams that rested players lost hard games and didn't win a premiership. I know its not that...
I just had a look at Cole's NSW cup stats. Impressive for a 19 rookie with only 10 games behind him.
In his 10 Cup games he has 5 tries, 8 try assists, 10 line break assists, tackling at 90%, and has kicked 17 goals at 89%.
Do you know if we have him locked up on a contract?
And we have won over 80% of games over the last 3 seasons when Kenny has started at hooker. And that’s without having an attacking threat like Luke to come off the bench to help cover the role.
Best post of the night. Would of liked it twice or more if that was possible.
I know all of us have different opinions, but FMD, we just wrapped up our 2nd minor premiership in 3 years, and the year in between we came equal first on points but only for and against stopped us from winning 3...
But a team is judged on results of the whole team, not parts of the team. Winning 15 of 16 means the whole team is doing its job, which is to win footy games.
What changes would you make that would make the team stronger?
Dropping Staines was for different reasons though. To’o as our best winger had to return to the side once fit, so a player always had to be dropped. May showed he was a better FG winger than Staines, so the tough call was made.
Re the bench, who would you drop and replace with to make the team...
I still remember that chest tattoo! It was supposed to be carpe diem, but the tattoo artist spelt it incorrectly.
Maybe that was why he never seized the day in the NRL.
It may well have been the long term plan to move Tago one in to replace Kikau when he is gone. But given the revelation Tago has been playing centre, if he keeps that form up for the rest of the season, It’s hard to imagine they would stick to that plan and move him to second row next season.
But why though, would you move one of your best centres to play 30-40 minutes off the bench?
Salmon or Gardner can cover that role because they aren’t good enough to be an NRL starting centre, but can cover it during a game due to injury.
Tago is already one of the form centres in the comp...
Tago has 9 tries, 7 try assists, 9 line breaks in his first 15 games as an NRL centre, whilst averaging 136m a game and tackling at 90%.
I just can’t see any reason why the Panthers would move their best/2nd best centre to second row. We lost the centre of the year in Burton, and have managed...
Looks like we will have 7 players in the Blues team, with Foxtel saying that Api plus the 6 Panthers from game 1 have all been selected for game 2.
How awesome is the video of the teams reaction when Api is told he has been selected. Shows how great the culture and team spirit is at the club...
These are the games played, the number of wins, and the percentage won:
- 2020: 23 played, 20 wins, 87%
- 2021: 24 played, 21 wins, 88%
- 2022: Played 14, wins 13, 93%
Total: Played 61, wins 54, 89%
Yeah, bloody Cleary. If only we had a master coach instead like Bellamy or Robinson who have the brains not to pick their players, including their marquee ones like Tedesco and Munster, to back up after origin.....oh wait.....
