He can't help himself. He is a control freak.
He interfered regularly when Ricky Stuart was our coach. He used to ask what the game plan was, then put his two bobs worth in, later in the week he would come up with another game plan. If the side lost heavily or didn't follow his master plan he would have no problem walking in the dressing sheds and giving the players spray.
Even runs training sessions.

He did the same with Ivan and Hook at Penrith. I know because my partners brother is at your club.

Gould is rugby league savant, but the trouble is he is always trying to outdo himself with every new idea.
At times he would be better sticking to one thing and following it through.
In 2019 he took part in a review for the Dragons and was keen to take up a permanent spot at the club. That never happened.
A brief stint at the Warriors. Departure blamed on Covid.
Wasn't he supposed to be a player agent too?
Given his past track record I have no doubt he is holding Barrett's hand.
If you are talking about 2002, I'd have thought the end result would have been worth it. My take on it is that Gus, having embarked on a media career, wanted out of hands on coaching, at least at club level, and brought in a rookie coach so he could ease himself out. That rookie coach won a premiership in the first year and hasn't won another one since. That alone suggests Gus had his fingerprints all over it.

My point was more that he can't keep his fingers out of things. There is a difference between helping a coach when they need it and interfering.

The late great Graham Murray was also a big reason for our success in 2002.

I do like this photo.

I almost feel sorry for Barrett given all the shit he has copped this week, both pre and post Gould’s comments......almost....but then I think of the fact he was walked out on us twice and then I think nah...f**k him!

He didn’t walk out on us. He got a better offer (head coach), fulfilled his duties and moved on with our blessing.

If we are this worried about Barrett I can see why the WTs fans hate Cleary!!

Was just a tongue in cheek comment. I couldn’t care less whether Barrett succeeds or fails as coach of the Bulldogs.

But I do tend to feel a bit sorry for whichever coach is the sucker of the week copping all the Foxtel/News Ltd preplanned headline grabbing media beat up for that particular week.

I posted about this earlier in the year. Gus always has agendas so its fair enough that fans want to link that to the Kikau photo. But the story doesn't add up.

If he wanted to release the photo then he would have just done it. It was taken by an employee on CCTV who then got sacked. So if you believe this was a grand plan then you also have to believe that Gould orchestrated the fake sacking as well.

It starts getting a bit too absurd at that point and fits quite nicely in the conspiracy bucket.

Nothing in that analyst screams ‘it doesn’t add up’. Stop drinking the Gould Aid.

Been the case for years.

Put Martin prop and an actual 2nd rower there and they would carve up

They have the best halfback in the world on that side...

Maybe critta just isnt as good as we all want to believe or think!

I mean, has he ever carved up like tago has so far?

Yes i know he has kiks but tago is carving players up all on his own at this point..

Martin is a SOO second rower. He is straight out of the boyd cordner mould.

I dont know what the answer is on the right but its not lack of class of the inside men..

I mean capewell was a great 2nd rower. He was also a SOO player.. was a skillful ball runner and player... didnt fire last year much either so your idea is flawed and doesnt add up..

People last year wanted to think critta was close to manus level but i said last year hes not even close and nothings changed my opinion of that.. hes a good better than avg solid defensive centre.
