    Look at them when they retire. There are some who keep themselves in great shape, they’re probably the ones who keep themselves fit over the off-season. Then there’s the players who pack on the weight when they’re done. They’d be the kind of players who only kept in shape because they played.

    Ponting never really backed Hauritz, but I remember him having England 9 down with an hour to play and deciding to bowl him and other part timers. You’re yelling at the tv to bowl a strike bowler as it just takes a single ball to win it. England hold on and win the series.

    If I remember correctly the Australian team were in Adelaide before a tour of Sri Lanka. Clarke wanted a spinner to bowl a net session to him and was told the groundsman bowled offies for the shield side. One net session later Clarke insisted Lyon be on the plane.

    Pontings captaincy was over when Lyon came in. I think spinners were his weakness as a captain, aside from Warne and Magill who were both elite, no spinner really thrived under him. Michael Clarke as a captain backed his spinners and Lyon immediately nailed down a place in the side.

    We play the Knights and Eels twice each before ANZAC Day. That side of the draw is a little poor but the cream rises. No team has ever won or lost the premiership because of a draw.

    I wouldn’t back us to chase 300 on a highway with a tennis ball. Marnus would waste too many balls and we would end up drawing.

    Every team gets 12 home games and 12 away games. The teams that have a non home game like magic round or what not, do so at their own request. Just sooks looking for things to sook about.

    My thoughts on these are, show them to someone who has never watched a game of cricket and ask them what they think, 99% of the time they’ll say it’s a catch and fail to understand why it’s even a question. The Starc call was ridiculous and reopened a can of worms.
