    Sloan is such a gifted player. He came into first grade too early, coming off the COVID interruptions, so he probably lost a little of his development. I think you can see his growth this season. He's got a lot of growing physically to come, too.

    I disagree. I don’t think Young or Hornby want to come back, why would they? They’re at clubs who are fairing a lot better than us.     H He is carrying on like a moron. This is the club captain. I know he is our best player, by some length, but he cannot close out a game and as a $1m halfback, you have to. Hunts time at 7 is over if Griffin leaves & Hunt knows it.

    I’m not too sure, but he’s certainly pro Griffin unlike many others in the squad. Mary, Flanagan and Young all had some issues with him. 2024 when Hook is gone, he is a 9.

    Don’t get me wrong, he is a great footballer but at $1.2m a year and as captain, you cannot be caught in no mans land in defence when your team is ahead. And then to drop the ball cold in the last set. Top drawer players and captains don’t do that.

    Ben Hunt what a disgrace. Been in the media carrying on about Griffin this week. He knows no other coach will play him at halfback. His pathetic defence cost us the last try and then knocks on. No matter what he did in attack, nothing makes up for that rubbish.

    That has been in the pipeline for sometime, well before this debacle. Though changing of the Chairperson really means nothing if the composition of the board remains the same. The Chair has no more say than the others, other than in the case of a deadlock.

    I wonder if there is more to what Young is saying: 'we signed him, so we've got to support him' it's almost like an admission of a mistake, or what I read into it as some of the board want him and some don't, and now it's gone to shit, there's almost a bit of 'I told you so'.

    Actually it’s a systemic issue at the Dragons & it won’t be the last season. The Flegg side will be playing with 21 year olds, so all of the good juniors under 21 won’t be getting a run and their pathway will be blocked. That’s why they’ve jumped.
