Pretty sure they are/had disappeared but were resurrected in the last few years. I can see the Diehards name getting vandalised though..... lol Di**h*ads

    Brisbane Bombers Bid

I think I put up an example logo for this in the Expansion Team Names thread. I'd be down for a brown and gold or brown & something colour scheme as we haven't really got a brown anymore since the panthers went to black.

    Brisbane Bombers Bid

Brisbane Blacks? Or Brisbane/Sth QLD Reds? (Union might have an issue) They still are but they are the Panthers up in Brisbane.

17 teams and a bye every week

I read that yesterday. The against arguements were pretty weak, if you can even call them real arguements. The piece about player depth is way off the mark considering how many NRL level players are forced to take up contracts in the UK because they can't get a spot in the NRL. Much like there...

    Expansion of the Women's Competition

Bulldogs are keen to get a women's team in when they look to expand the NRLW in 2022/3 https://www.nrl.com/news/2020/02/17/pays-future-and-nrlw-team-top-of-bulldogs-hit-list/

Only issue with that is that there is already another NRL licence south of Brisbane that is only an hour away. Throwing another one south would be suicide or murder of one of those clubs. If anything I feel the licence should either go North or West of Brisbane.... or Northwest.... Northwest...

Hahahahaha would be an interesting slogan "The Cemetry-siders will rise from the dead". I though Suncorp still was a circus with the clowns they have playing there at the moment.

Could have. I know it was last year some time... Either way its not a bad concept and introduces a new brand whilst also having a history to attach itself to the city/Brisbane fringes.

By the way, is it just me or did "He who shall not be named" finally give up?

17 teams and a bye every week

NFL doesn't really detract much from the NRL though as the NFL basically runs in our off season. Most people jump on it as a replacement/filler until the NRL season starts because its another physical contact sport. This is why there have been so many attempts to start secondary competitions...

    Gold Coast Bears/Nth Sydney/Gosford

The Grave/Cemetry Siders were based out of Toowong (inner western Brisbane) and were so named because of the massive Cemetry there. I think I've made reference to this in the Expansion Team Names post where they could resurrect the Cemetry siders as the Reapers and re-establish the Toowong...

This could work. The dolphins own the new Brisbane2 licence, a neutral brand is established with the Dolphins being the exclusive Queensland based feeder team for the club.

    NRL Expansion. Ideas and opinions.

Absolutely not for CC Bears, unless it’s a relocation which PVL and Greenberg have said won’t happen. ....... so, no!

    Sydney Sharks

Known briefly in the 1990s as the Sydney Bulldogs, as a result of the Super League war the club competed in that competition in 1997 before changing their name to the geographically indistinct Bulldogs and continuing to play every season of the re-unified NRL, winning their most recent...

    Northern NSW team

I'm sure they do own properties in those locations which adds to their funding but if I were those businesses, I'd prefer my club in a player/supporter/commercial base closer to Sydney rather than out in the mid-north coast. They're going to think of their bottom line at the end of the day and...

    Sydney Sharks

I'm pretty sure a number of teams tried this at the end of the 90's. The Bulldogs had changed their name to Sydney Bulldogs at the same time the Roosters became Sydney City. The Bulldogs scrapped the idea before the season started. They Balmain Tigers had also intended to remove the Balmain name...

    Northern NSW team

Absolutely that the NRL as a governing body needs to look after the area, but not with an NRL licence. Definitely agree that a Reserve grade team would be beneficial. Unfortunately those clubs have butt loads of money behind them because they’re backed by leagues clubs and are happy to stump up...

    West Coast Pirates Bid News

“Thank you, Perth for hosting this year’s 9s tournament. It has been an incredible showcase of Rugby League over three days. The Commissioner and I would like to take this opportunity to reinforce the NRLs commitment to Perth by announcing that it will move more club games to Perth over the...

    Northern NSW team

I’m not denying the talent in the area, but just because there is talent there doesn’t mean it needs its own NRL team. If the kids are good enough the scouts will find them.... also, if the kids want a shot at the NRL then sometimes they have to go chase it. That means having to leave their home...
