That's just your opinion
you don’t say lol.

I see no value to any city taking the bears brand. It’s nothing more than playing to the nostalgia of a few 50plus year old journalists in reality.
Nothing wrong with nostalgia. It’s very bankable and marketable

Pretty sure they are/had disappeared but were resurrected in the last few years. I can see the Diehards name getting vandalised though..... lol Di**h*adsI always liked the Diehards name. Was intrigued by it anyway.
Brisbane Diehards sounds alright. Are Valleys still kicking?
You mean like Stallion? HahahaOnly the most ignorant people who think everything revolves around Sydney would ever think that relocating the Bears to Brisbane is a good idea.
I note that they didn’t say 200,000 living Bears fans.
The Bears are making noise again.
Over 200k Bears Fans my arse.
The Bears are making noise again.
Bears best chance is if the NRL needs a quick fix club to fulfill the TV contract, that means another team would have to go belly up. Or they could look at partnering with the 2nd Brisbane team but I don't see any Brisbane bids wanting that and I think the Bears are determined to play out of the CC.
Overly optimistic is an understatement considering that the Bears gave up on the CC bid and folded it.Call me overly optimistic but I don't see how the Bears couldn't come back, playing out of Gosford, locking up the entire North Shore + CC for corporate backing and juniors and enter the NRL with 3 other teams.
The ARL made a bold move 25 years ago with 4 new teams (at a time before budget airfares) and it might've worked had Superleague not turned the game upside down at that exact moment. You could have the Bears, Perth and 1 or 2 of the prospective Qld bids. Would be a bold statement from the games' powerbrokers about our future.
The CC isn't big enough to support an NRL team on it's own, so the team would be reliant on Sydney for support and sponsorship money to be sustainable, and the last thing that the NRL needs is more pressure put on the Sydney market.

Firstly, are we just going to pretend that Manly doesn't exist anymore? From what I've seen, the Bears are interested in any expansion talk and would be open to relocating outside NSW to have an NRL presence again. At the same time, there is no NRL presence between the north side of the Harbour Bridge and Lake Macquarie- combined those areas have over 1 million people, are home to some of the richest business districts in Australia and (on the CC) is a growth area. Should the Bears be able to move to the CC, you have the support and sponsorship money from the Bears/ North Shore which is an area with zero NRL representation, equalling no pressure on the rest of the Sydney market.
It's possible to have expansion into those new areas you mentioned AND lock up the North Shore/ CC areas. I don't see why we should have to choose between one or the other. My only issue is with shitty bids with major holes in them getting admitted to the NRL simply because they're in the "right" area i.e the Bombers bid.
i see the WA perth western force back into the bigtime, biggamesSpot on. If I was NRL CEO, and had to do a "1995 V2.0" (ie a grand expansion that takes us from 16 to 20 clubs), I'd select either Jagera or Firehawks as team 17, then West Coast Pirates as team 18..
...then teams 19 and 20 would probably be two out of NZ2, Adelaide & Redcliffe (in that order of preference) - with Sydney clubs on notice that if they fail, the expansion market that missed out gets their place.
