I guessing that’s based on the NFL format? There’s nothing particularly wrong with that format but in the US it’s necessitated by how many teams there are (32 teams in NFL). I don’t think it’s necessarily better than a top 8 system and with an uneven number of teams it doesn’t work. I guess...

You’re probably right, I honestly didn’t realise he was still so young and I tuned in last night to catch a glimpse of Valynce but Niu was the one that stole the show

Watching QLD cup grand final and Tesi Niu is carving up, off contract for next season would he be worth a modest contract? Didn’t realise he’s still only 23 years old

    NRLW

Yep, many people had them as favourites to win it, had something like 12 origin/kiwi reps in their squad and they ended up losing twice as many games as they won and having the 2nd worse attack in the comp despite having a spine full of rep players

Plus I don’t want to have to live through the Nicho Hynes worship from certain sections of the media of Cronulla win. Trindall had the best game of his life the other night whilst Hynes was a solid contributor at best and the media make out that Nicho had was the saviour

Yep and the pass was on the money, we saw KP throw a similar pass to Gags (which still should’ve been caught) but it was a much easier pass and it was probably 6 inches lower than it should’ve been, Tamika threw it the opposite side to which she was running at speed, very little margin for error...

    NRLW

You could make a claim she’s the best ever, certainly in the NRLW era, 4 premierships, dally m medal, back to back Karen Murphy medals

    NRLW

Yep, 11 runs for 144m and 9 tackle breaks. With Albert Jones off to the warriors next year I think McEwen will make that spot her own, hopefully her brother can mirror that.

    Rumoured Targets 3

At the moment yes which I think is a reason why we need to recruit as opposed to just checking Jones and Croker around.

Sua reminds me abit of Xavier Willison from the broncos, very similar physique and I think once Sua fills out he’ll be around that 115kg mark. Manulelua I think given his rangy build and ball playing ability will stay an edge but McEwen I agree will end up a tear away middle with footwork...

    Team 2025

Luckily from all reports they’ve sorted the issues and the kid should be able to lead a perfectly normal life. The optimist in me hopes he can start 2025 fresh and strong because at his best he’s definitely an asset

    Team 2025

I thought Hethrington was much improved later in the year and after reading the article in the Newcastle Herald last week I can completely understand why he was struggling earlier in the year. For those who didn’t see the article basically his newborn son was suffering from a condition called...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Mobility definitely helps but guys like Paseka, Lodge and Olaakauatu ran rough shot over them in both round 26 and last week, Olaakauatu and Lodge had about 20 tackle breaks between them last week. I think guys like Lucas and Cant can be that point of difference in terms of mobility, everyone...

What is the actual situation with Tyrone Thompson anyway? Next year if we have an injury or two and we have to play Sebastian Sua and Tom Cant for 20 minute stints off the bench at some point during the season I don’t think we’ll be sitting back afterwards and saying “oh if we had Brodie Jones...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Up and coming? Both are in their mid 20s now, Jones will be 27 next year and has been a first grader for 5 years, I think the term up and coming is well and truely passed for him. I’m not saying don’t root for them but I think you can root for them as well as accept that maybe we need to shift...

    Rumoured Targets 3

I’d love to keep both on 2nd tier contracts, Croker is abit of a weird one because in NSW cup his biggest asset is his work rate and ability to play big minutes but he’s probably just below the level needed to be starting middle in the NRL so it’s tough for him to have a big impact from the...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Brailey and Hethrington are still under contract and might be hard to move on given their current deals as is Hastings. I might be missing something but I’ve never seen such strong takes from so many people about a club letting go as you described them 2 minimum wage gap fillers. With upgrades...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Again we’re talking about two exclusively bench players in the mid 20s with not the highest upside, solid squad members at best but not exactly difference makers. The thing is if we just wanted to maintain the status quo and bring back 90% of the team that managed to just sneak into 8th this...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Completely different players, Croker and Jones are reliable bench middles who can do a job for you but aren’t and never will be difference makers. Jones played 18 games and averaged 66m per game, Croker played 16 games and averaged 79m per game, let’s not pretend they’re leaving this big void in...

    Rumoured Targets 3

Pretty sure he’s only about 19-20, he’s switched from 5-8th/centre to edge backrower so you’d imagine that would take abit of getting used to
