THE IDEAL NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THE NRL.

I’m sure somebody like Aston Villa or a Nottingham Forest might be able to snag a victory against a Man City or a Liverpool every now and then; that doesn’t mean they are a chance in hell of potentially winning the thing. The NRL has become like a European soccer competition. If that’s what...

THE IDEAL NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THE NRL.

That would be fine IF there was any likelihood of that changing or the make up of the teams were different. You may as well lock in Penrith, Roosters or Melbourne for the next 100 years hence why this idea of 20 teams is so f******* stupid and will come back to bite the ARLC in a big way

Next TV deal discussion 2028 -

Good luck getting close to the fumblers deal in any case - News Limited will make sure of it. Just do what’s best for the game. I would argue for less teams not more at this point in time

THE IDEAL NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THE NRL.

Well how many is too many? You could say a few will fall back but they are not the only ones. You could say a few regional teams should go because they are no chance of winning a comp.

Well he is right. You don’t have to be in a cult all the time. Their attendances and revenue are greater.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Yeah I don’t think they would implement a draft and it has problems. You can’t cheat a draft though which is its big benefit. It would be ideal for one body to be looking at junior development rather than clubs but that will never happen either. I’d prefer the removal of the salary cap at this...

Haha an article referencing TV rights from a News Limited paper.

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

It won’t work mainly because we kind of have it now (at least for the NSW clubs) You either have a competition which is regulated or you have a laissez faire approach. A salary cap doesn’t work in isolation mainly because it is impossible to regulate and easy to cheat and been proven such over...

At most 16 teams but ideally you go back to 12.

Time to move on a few clubs at the bottom of that list. Reduce the amount of teams.

I’m just arguing what he wants. He just can’t understand the logic of his own argument. Put new sides in if you want but cull the deadwood or irrelevant clubs

    WA BEARS

They wouldn’t be playing against each other in this competition would they. I am not sure you actually understand the argument. If there were a 8-10 team premier league, then it would be very unlikely you would be seeing 50 point floggings.
