It's Official - Interchange to be Reduced to 8 for 2016

A lot of thought seems to be that the smaller footballers will benefit from tired defenders. Does anyone think that this does also open up an opportunity for a genuine impact powerhouse big forward. It seems if a coach can afford to carry one on the bench then a fresh powerhouse would dent or...

    Rumoured Signings - 2015/2016.

Not all. Can't stand them don't really buy into the qld v nsw nrl teams. Whole lot of other teams I'll barrack for ahead of storm or cowboys for that matter. I think it goes back to early 2000s when there was a fair bit of ill feeling between teams after some fiery niggly matches. Not fussed...

    2015 Crowd Watch part II

I think they tend to overstate the uniqueness of their demographic as well. According to Townsville City Council, 192k people live in Townsville. That sounds like a decent enough local population to still draw a crowd on a Monday or Thursday night. Sure cowboys represent the NQ region, but...

    Junior Sharks in Finals

Does anyone know if there is any live coverage of the games this week?

Matt Moylans dead ball on friday

apart from all the hoopla, Rabbits and Roy Masters banging on, I actually thought I heard during the coverage that the ref said Boyd's kick was touched by a panther player when he kicked it, thats why it was a dropout. Could be wrong, did anyone else pick that up??

    England v New Zealand series

Well if new Zealand are beaten by England surely that lessens their claim to number one ranking. Rankings are earnt over time. Surely being current world cup holders for less than 2 years has some sway if NZ can't beat number three. People suddenly seem to think the kiwis have dominated for...

    England v New Zealand series

So this series really has an interesting twist now for English fans. If you beat NZ in the series, does this help keep Australia number one ranked team. Does victory push England higher in its rankings? Totally accept all fans want their team to win, and no doubt players play to win every...

    Keenan Yorston

Not sure about soo but junior rep finals up here are curtain raisers for Qld nsw residents match in a couple of weeks. Tbh nervous to reveal too much with footy community politics quite nasty but we're on a coast near Brisbane. Patience is tough for young fella keen as for everything to happen.

Yes still floating around.. He's going good, his team is playing semi-finals in Cyrill Connel Cup (H Matthews equiv). Don't want to get too excited and put horse before cart but right in running for U16 Qld team, fingers crossed. Also picked in his region open age (u18s) school boys team for...

Junior Rugby League Mandatory Licensed Playing Gear

i think the idea is to actually break the mould of kids being robots, and teaching halves to run. a good coach can fix it easily by rotating his players in those positions each quarter or half. The change is fine, its the coaches that need help.

Cyril Connell and Mal Meninga Cups (with a new team added ! ) - 2015 Draw

I found it odd that they have a pool of 9 and a pool of 7. Understand putting the Victorian team in the SEQ pool because of flights, but maybe could have put Redcliffe, or Ipswich in with the regional pool and had two pools of eight with no byes.

cheers, thanks for the kind words. Long way to go for him, but you've got to be in it to win it so he's going hard. Have a soft spot for sharks, so I'd be stoked to see him go well there. Frenzy, not THE johnny plath, just an old admirer

Let me say that as a parent of one of the qld boys that came down for the pathways camp he had a ball, and can't wait to head down when if he finishes school. The boys bonded pretty quickly and I don't get a sense that the kids are thinking I can't wait to get through sharks development so I...

    Brisbane Bombers Bid

I would like to see another Brisbane team, but I'm curious why expats who support other teams would suddenly become supporters and attend B2 games. Would they become your number 2 team, or after a while would the dislike that is extended to Broncos also start to be directed to B2, particularly...

    2015 Membership Discussion

According to Townsville City Council, the Townsville population is a touch over 189000. Its not huge, but its a decent population. Its been a while since I was up there, but its not that much of an effort to get out to the Cowboys, surely a Monday night at the footy is not a bad option for an...

    Draw 2015

Maybe because cowboys ask to play home games on Saturday nights so that people from the bush can travel in to make the game?

    Phil Rothfield

I think I also read that Souths only leave Sydney once after round 13. Surely that would be some sort of advantage. Parramatta get to play every team outside of Sydney away this year. Everyone's draw has pros and cons, its the nature of a competition that is so spread out geographically and...

Dave Smith and John Grant facing a rebellion over the direction of the NRL

Not sure if you're recalling history too well. The last NSWRL grand final was in 1994. In 1995 ARL took over the game, the same year that the superleague war started. Canberra entered in 1982 with Illawarra. Brisbane, Newcastle, and Gold Coast joined the NSWRL in 1988. 1995, under the...
