    Hayne signs with Gold Coast

Seriously??? people need to get a grip.... how many NRL standard non rugby league registered players (Not just NRL, any rugby league comp) are just sitting on the sidelines waiting for the opportunity to slip into a Grand final quality team that is sitting under the salary cap just waiting for...

    National Reserve Grade

Not really because they actually don't have the talent pool of all those clubs to draw on they can only draw on their nrl contracted players. That is limited by 2nd tier salary cap which would be the same for all teams. It's probably a disadvantage having your player pool spread out as each...

    2016 Crowd Watch

Good crowd in townsville, but I would have thought closer to 25k was possible, Apparently Storm are their biggest draw card outside Broncos, Saturday night preferred time for travellers, no flooding or bad weather to deter all those fans that apparently drive for hours and hours to be there...

    2017 scheduling

I posted this in another thread, but it probably sits better here now. A genuine question for anyone who has an idea of how to quantify stuff, not trying to start a shit storm over tv coverage or scheduling. This season Broncos had no home daytime games, and think maybe one last season. I know...

    2016 Crowd Watch

Maybe in the wrong thread, but a genuine question for anyone who has an idea of how to quantify stuff, not trying to start a shit storm over tv coverage or scheduling. This season Broncos had no home daytime games, and think maybe one last season. I know the club and supporters would like...

What is the best way to count Premierships??

I always thought Valleys had 21 premierships. I found this as well, but not sure how accurate it is: http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/threads/valleys-diehards-rugby-league-club.94808/ "The Fortitude Valley club is the oldest in Queensland and arguably the most famous. The club formed in...

    2016 Crowd Watch

Iti I tipped a 20k plus crowd for the titans v Warriors match in the 2016 predictions thread. ..starting to believe it might get close.

    NYC scrapped!!

Just back to the state carnival for u16 rep foot y....its weak as piss if it happens this way. ...qrl need to strengthen their junior rep systems not weaken them. If you follow the under age stuff i think qld is really going backwards

What is the best way to count Premierships??

Nah not that I remember.... BRL clubs weren't rich in the way they are now... QLD didn't get pokies until after Joh finally got the arse as premier. Part of the push for a Brisbane team was so that stars playing in QLD that were being lured away for money in Sydney would be able to stay in...

    NYC scrapped!!

Don't know how true, but been told so that they can expand the u20s to a state wide comp. Talk of trialling u18s and u20s in a similar format to this years u16/18s comp, ie about a ten week comp. then transition to a full blown state 20s the following year. Be nice if someone with authority...

    NYC scrapped!!

What junior's do melbourne fly up. ..there u20s are permanently based on the sunshine coast and play all of there home games there. .the 16 and 18s travel for 4 games in the state league and the qld 16 state comp is probably set to be scraped next year as well.

    NYC scrapped!!

Whether you're buying it or not doesnt matter. . thats the reason given for scrapping national 20s and making them state based. .as for Fiji wellington Christchurch Auckland etc etc...hasn't happened yet and they aren't part of what's being proposed for u20s

    Official RLWC2017 Draw

I think a big part of the reason soccer internationals get decent crowds relates to it providing a much higher standard compared to what is normally available to aussie soccer fans. ..this is not really the case with rugby league and particularly Sydney where there is generally top standard...

    NYC scrapped!!

Not sure about that. ..everything I've seen had been the nrl clubs (read nsw clubs imo)dont want the travel expense of a national comp. A nsw based 20s is a great comp for them but the qrl one not so good. ..still big travel costs, weaker comp. Seems a centric view that suits nswrl and nsw...

    NYC scrapped!!

Except that the playing talent will be diluted..4 nrl clubs players spread around 16 qld state clubs..the competition will be nowhere near the strength of the nsw equivalent so development will suffer. The nsw comp will be strong with all being nrl clubs and systems but i think the qld version...

    NYC scrapped!!

Awesome. ..what do the 3 qld teams and melbourne do. ...play each other 8 times. ..dumb shit

    Official RLWC2017 Draw

Article below from Sydney media highlights a couple of things. First that NSW missed out on games because it has a tight arse Government that can't see the value in hosting an international sporting event. Second, the sense of entitlement and centric view that suggests NSW should just be given...

    Official RLWC2017 Draw

I think its come out that who plays at what QF venues will be deternined after the pool stages, but Australia is a guarantee to play in Darwin unless they meet NZ and NZ are higher finishers.

    Official RLWC2017 Draw

True, a bit longer to Perth and Darwin, but they're outliers, so fair enough. It seems Darwin looks unlikely for England this time around though, so not quite as much travel as you suggest, but yeah a bit of trekking - maybe Sydney to Melb to Perth - back to Melb then Brisbane or Auckland. Not...

    Official RLWC2017 Draw

Well no, the article just says that Australia WILL play in Darwin in the QF unless they are playing NZ and NZ finish higher than them in the pool stages. Nobody mentioned Australia finishing top of the pool as a foregone conclusion.
