    not sure if serious, but we had the coca cola 7s in 95, 96, with a few international teams plus the arl comp, and super league held an international 10s in 1997... think it was held in Townsville from memory. Can't recall if the 7s kept going for a season or two after this.

    No he's not.... Souths play last years top eight 13 times out of possible 16, so they definitely don't play last years top teams twice.     I agree with this... if you want to attend the one or two games at this time that your team is likely to play there is more than enough notice with the draw to make arrangements for that day so you can get home, get the kids and go to a game of footy that doesn't finish too late for the kids...

    I think this could potentially work well during the origin rep period. 6 to 8 weeks could see a nrl game in a country centre each weekend. Crowds generally drop in this period any way so not such a hit in crowd numbers...will have its own hype in those towns and won't take anything away from...
