    There was a lightning delay at the SCG which lasted more than an hour at half time. This would explain viewers changing channels.

    I said IF they met in a Grand Final. Did you miss that important detail? I wasn't saying a regular round game was as big as State of Origin (in ratings terms anyway, the crowds are definitely comparable).

    I just noted that it's one of the top rivalries in Australian sport and the crowds that turn up everytime they play support that fact. I didn't say last night's game rated well in Sydney and I don't particularly care. Not everything in this country revolves around Sydney.

    A Carlton v Collingwood Grand Final would easily outrate any State of Origin game. Unfortunately it has not occurred since 1981 and is unlikely to happen in the near future. Anyway, time to watch the Storm return to the winners list in Canberra.
