It's a secondary game, like the NRL has Fiji v Tonga. Also if any of SA, WA, VIC, Tas were playing NRL Origin, the audience wouldn't be huge.

There is no point comparing the USA, which has 50+ metro markets of at least 1 million people to Australia which has 5 metro markets.

There is scope for a bye weekend to include three Origin games,.eg. Fri N: SA v Vic Sat: WA v Qld Sun: NSW v Tas Yes, some of the teams wouldn't be as strong but my point is all states are included, while in the NRL model 4 out of 6 states are always excluded.

Sorry but this would be an unmitigated disaster. Nobody watches 10 on Fridays, and the 6pm game would be slaughtered by the well established 6pm News services on 7 and 9.

It still adds value to the deal, and has a lot of scope for growth. Could be moved to mid season depending on a number of fixture changes.

There is no way Monday Night Football on 7 will make a dent in MAFS ratings... sports coverage is already at saturation point from Thursday to Sunday. MNF is a drawcard in America but they haven't just had 4 consecutive days of NFL games.

Because without knowing the hour-by-hour breakdowns its impossible to know which program had the highest average over the 5-6pm timeslot. And that's not taking into account time differences for Adelaide and Perth.

You can't compare an average figure for 5-6pm to an average for a three hour block covering 3-6pm. Additionally in Perth the programmes were not in direct competition due to the time difference.

The Hawks-Cats Easter Monday thriller was the highest rating daytime game for the year in either code. It should also be taken into account that 84,712 fans were watching the match in person at the MCG.

The Warriors are one of the biggest drawcards in Melbourne. I'm tipping this game will be 28k+

It is unfortunate, however the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal has been a Melbourne television institution on Channel 7 for decades so that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
