New partnership for SLE and RFL

Very interesting. 12 years is some committment. The betting and online tv production is interesting. Super League Europe and the Rugby Football League (RFL) today announce a 12-year strategic partnership with IMG, a global leader in sports, events, media and fashion owned by Endeavor, to...

Willie Peters announced as Hull KR Coach for 2023 on 3 year deal

Newcastle Knights assistant Willie Peters will step up to a head coaching role with Hull KR after a long apprenticeship in the NRL. Peters, the former South Sydney and St George Illawarra halfback, will move to the Super League next season to take over from Tony Smith as Hull KR head coach on a...

    Challenge Cup Weekend

Semis are upon us. HKR v Hudds Wigan v St's plus the championship 1895 cup Feath v Barrow Leigh v Sheff. Should be cracking games. Interesting insight into HKR's 2015 Cup run to Wembley and were it went wrong in the final. Hopefully we can put it right this year...

    Gavin Miller Interview

Really good interview with Gavin Miller in Total RL. Part1 Gavin Miller, the 1986 Man of Steel, was one of the great imports to British Rugby League in the 1980s. He started out as a 17-year-old with Western Suburbs before having two spells at both Eastern Suburbs and Cronulla Sharks. He won...

    No Australian tv deal yet!

WTF? It’s less than six months until the rescheduled 2021 World Cup kicks off in the UK, and still no television broadcast deal for Australia has been secured. The tournament, pushed back a year from 2021 after the Kangaroos and Kiwis pulled out, officially begins on October 15 when England...

    Dolphins home games 2023

Couldn't have come at a worse time but for the Dolphins inaugural season Suncorp wont be available for 9 weeks between June and August due to the womens football world cup. Was always the plan to play some games at Redcliffe and Sunshine Coast but with capacities under 13k that will put a big...

    Centre of Excellence funding pledge

Probably won’t get back in but ScoMo has pledged $15mill for a Dolphins CofE. wil it be incorporated into a new main stand at the stadium to increase capacity or off site somewhere? Pics look like not part of stadium which would be a great shame...

    NZRL funding

Is there a reason the NZRL gets such a pittance in funding from the ARLC? Whilst the ARLC fund NSWRL $20mill a year, the NZRL get less than $500k! With the NRL NZ TV deal going up by $12.4mill a year in 2023 you'd hope some of it might flow to the NZRL to be able to better invest in the...

Tony Smith to leave Hull KR

Sounds like hes had a falling out. As a Rovers fan I’m gutted, one of the best coaches we’ve ever had. Rumoured Seibold may take over next year, yikes! https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/hull-kr-tony-smith-leaving-6974738

    NZ should be favourites?

With a spine of Walsh, Foran, Hughes and the cheese are nz favourites for the cup? add in a very powerful pack and they could be good for a few $’s on them to win it!

Can you tackle a dummy runner?

There's been a couple of penalties blown so far this season due to the dummy runner being tackled by the defence. Given the whole point of being a dummy runner is to draw defenders is it fair to invoke the 'tackled without the ball' rule in this instance?

    NRL Season Launch Video

With something of a chequered past due to the featured players then doing something dumb I bring you this years season launch video. Quite a bit of social media grumbling on not every club being featured. So Real it's Unreal:

    England name Train on squad

Some interesting omissions: The former Wigan boss has named a 30-man squad. Emerging talents Lewis Dodd and Kai Pearce-Paul have been included. 38-times capped Hull KR winger Ryan Hall has also been named. 2021 Man of Steel winner Sam Tomkins has been included alongside Catalans team-mate Tom...

    NRL2

With the news that Wynnum are aiming to build a 12k stadium thought it'd be fun to revisit an idea thats been floating around for years. The creation of a professional second division. With an acceptance that NRL is unlikely to go beyond 18 teams, and some significant markets not covered by...
