    State Cup

Jeffles - my understanding is that most of the Sydney based NRL clubs have advised the NSWRL they will not be fielding a Premier league side - Parramatta, Canterbury, Penrith and St George for starters. Therefore there will be no choice other than to disband PL. The fact there is not a lot of...

    State Cup

It appears that the idea of a national U20s comp is subsiding given that the non Sydney clubs are only lukewarm on the idea with exception of the Broncos. NQ, Warriors, Storm will not field sides. However that is not likely to save the premier league given that many of the Sydney have advised...

    Wendall is a tosser

Larkham has a lot of skills and is no doubt a very good union player. However in league he would be constantly smahed if he tried to play the same running game. His defence would also be inadequate Giteau and Gerrard have played more league than union from their junior days, and would have...

    El Masri's French Union Offer

I have my doubts about the authenticity of this offer for the simple reason that the FRU do not contract players. In French rugby it is the clubs who contract the players and they are act very autonomously from the FRU. Strange also that there is no publicity about this offer in France or Europe.

    Farcical Footy show with Johns

legend - excellent point The real issue is not so much Johns changing employers, it is that his new employer will use his profile to grow union at the expense of league. All player contracts contain a general duty and obligation to promote the game and conduct coaching clinics and other...

    Any truth to...

You need to be clear that it is more a situation where Jim Bean will replace Premier League. Non of the Premier League teams will back up in Jim Bean other than having a feeder club relationship i.e. Penrith and St Marys

    Any truth to...

Correct - most premier league clubs are going to drop out and use a Jim Bean Cup side as a feeder club. A national U20s comp will take over the Premier league role. Each NRL club will field a U20 side with the exception of the Warriors. Premier league is dead and buried. Junior reps will only...

    bye bye balmain and magpies

There is another aspect to this whole issue which is being missed. Many of the NRL clubs ( St George, Canterbury, Parramatta, Easts ) want to do away with a premier league side and have instead a national version of Jersey Flegg which would be the game before first grade NRL. When this...
