Stuck in Auckland for GF - any meetups?

Aaaaaaargh, stuck in Auckland this weekend, simply can't get back. Any big Dragons fans Grand Final meet-up locations there? Stu

    Kogarah Oval Masterplan.

I'll miss the embankment-of-death at the southern end! Nothing like balancing on a perilous drop-off while simultaneously drinking beer and cheering! Character-building, that's what it is. That's just pathetic. And with the JV - look, remember that it takes time to forge history. Just like we...

Charter trains to home games - what do you think?

Yes, the coaches from the clubs is an interesting one, and I gathered they don't do great business. I think there are several reasons for this: Coaches are just not as comfortable as a (seated) train. The seats are smaller, the motion is rougher, the space more cramped. Entry and exit via the...

Charter trains to home games - what do you think?

I think the train would be more attractive than the buses, and I have reasons but no time to type them out right now. (Flat out at work.) Working on getting proper costings. Should have some info by the end of the week.

Charter trains to home games - what do you think?

I thought so too but Wikipedia says: 96 seated (driver cars) 112 seated (trailer cars) 192 in 2 car set 304 in 3 car set 416 in 4 car set They only seat 4 across where suburban sets seat 5, and they have long entry areas. FWIW.

God, don't wish that on me! I couldn't think of anything worse. ;-)

Charter trains to home games - what do you think?

I've just realised Cityrail can (and do sometimes) run the V sets right down to 2 car sets, as well as the regular 4, 6 and 8 car sets. Both classes average 100-110 seats per carriage, so anything between 200 and 800 passengers should be doable

Charter trains to home games - what do you think?

Viability will almost totally depend on two things - what the charter costs and how many people will sign up. I'll try and find out the cost this week - I'll give the Souths office a call tomorrow and ask how they organised theirs, and also try and find the right department in CityRail to ask...

Charter trains to home games - what do you think?

The Rabbitoh's organised a charter train to Olympic Park from Central and Redfern for the Charity Shield two weeks ago and it got me thinking - what would be the possibility of St George chartering trains to take St George area members to Wollongong for home games and vice-versa? I'm a 6-game...

What time will final sell out - guesses please!

Nothing - except laziness. Ticketed Eels members have the same 9am access as ticketed Dragons members, I believe. I'm sure plenty of them have purchased. If it's mainly Cat C and GA left by this afternoon, then it should sell out very quickly after 9pm tonight when the NRL website members get...

Sack Stuart or lose our team!

Ricky Stuart's real problem is he doesn't know how to bring a team together. A few weeks ago I was reading about how he makes player do punishment exercise for mistakes at training. That's totally the wrong way. It's like the old saying - 'The floggings will continued until morale improves'.
