2024 TV and Streaming Ratings Discussion

It would appear that the Storms` Melbourne television ratings are growing steadily but surely like their crowd figures. Perhaps over the next 5 - 10 years we will see an average home attendance of 25 000 and 100k watching on the television.

    18th club, whose next?

Yeah right, 20k real fans, the balance fair weather fans, and the rest of the state not really giving a hoot.

You mean sort of like the `Voice`.

Like it or not the North Sydney side of the venture is worth cultivating, the Bears had some blue-chip sponsors in the day and demographically it is a very wealthy area. I know people like to mock these chardonnay-sipping supporters but frankly League doesn`t have enough of them. So as we have...

Rugby Australia to target top NRL talent

This is as much about stopping fumbleball from muscling on this as well, I believe that many private schools run fumbleball programmes as well now, they know this is where a lot of people who go into the corporate world are educated. Hopefully we`ll start to see something similar done with the...

Comes from working in Aged Care and spending too much time listening to the oldies.

    2024 Crowd Watch

Yeah, it depends how much they can add to the price, which I doubt will be a lot. I suppose the up-side is that the double-headers do seem to get bigger crowds which in turn makes it a better viewing experience and can help on the Tv viewership side of things, and that of course is where the...

    2024 Crowd Watch

Assuming that means an NRL and NRLW game on the same ticket, I think that`s a great idea and something we should see a lot more of. It`d be interesting to know how much extra the price on those tickets could be before it started to affect demand.

    The Las Vegas Thread

@emesssea "Well with zero recognition do you think most of us will know if youre sending us a premier matchup vs an also rans matchup?" I think I said in an earlier post for anyone tempted to go who might do a bit of research before hand and see that these two teams hadn`t exactly set the...

FFS that`s twice you`ve spelt `cuckoo` wrong. And he was right, and I suppose hence your piss-poor response.

Difference is of course, they`re (the NFL) coming to England or here hypothetically with a very high level of recognition, we are going over there with next to zero recognition with two teams that who are perennial under-performers.

    The Las Vegas Thread

Agree wholeheartedly but the only issue I see was that if the shoe was on the other foot and the NFL were sending two teams over here for a game and one hadn`t won a comp in 30 years and the other had never even won one I`d straight away be thinking, what are we getting, the dregs, these teams...

Love the Poms enthusiasm but FFS don`t let them anywhere near the running of it, they`d f**k it up big-time.

    2024 Crowd Watch

Yeah, even today the sight of that old jersey from way back when (without all the advertising all over it) still stirs something in me every time I see it. In the early 90`s I went to Peter Wynn`s sport store in Parramatta determined to get me one of those old Magpie jumpers with the Victor...

Look as long as it is not an error fest, and there`s no reason why it should be, then I don`t think it matters for the Rugby League uninitiated. American Football is generally pretty high scoring, Yanks will want to see tries scored, certainly not a grind-a-thon.

That`s why I think double-headers with the same men`s home team are the go. Makes it more of an event and our games don`t go on for too long for it to be a drag.

    2024 Crowd Watch

I`m a Saints supporter of 50 years plus (I started young ha ha) and even I don`t mind the idea of them going full-Illawarra Steelers when they play in the `Gong.
