Manly Sea Eagles vs West Tigers *Live Updates*

Actually I reckon the better team lost. I'm just not sure how. The Tigers dominated the contest after half time - scoring that try and then defending and kicking well to keep Manly out of their half. A silly Tigers error and a piece of luck won Manly the game. The Tigers performance reminded...

NRL.com just gets worse and worse

I think you'll find the problem is with NRL STATS, as opposed to Telstra. If you look at some of the club websites - the bulldogs for example - it says they haven't got player stats etc at this stage due to a problem with NRL Stats. From my experience, this surprises me very little.

Round 1 league viewing in Sydney city pubs- horror story

The publicans have no idea. Even when you point out to the staff that NOBODY is watching the union and there's about 50 people trying to watch the league on a small screen, they won't change it.

Since when did Manly not offer it? They did last year.

    Friday night Rah Rah

Give Channel Nine a break. 1) They've paid millions of dollars for the rights to the Commonwealth Games and they are a ratings winner for the network. 2) They have at least said that rugby league takes some sort of priority and they will show the Friday night games despite there being some...

Now Gower's being accused of sexual harrassment

Gower played this all wrong. Whether he did it or not - and I personally believe he did, although I think there may be more to it - there's absolutely no proof. If Gower had played the "it didn't happen card" instead of the "i can't remember card", then i can't see how the Penrith club...

Now Gower's being accused of sexual harrassment

Lets not burn Gower at the stake here. It's clear from what the actual golf club has said - specifically the part about him being welcome back at any time - that most of the incidents have been blown out of proportion by the media. And the biggest incident - the alleged sexual groping -...

    NRL RADIO DISGRACE (The article)

Yes, if there was open rights 2WS, MIX, VEGA, TODAY, NOVA AND 2JJJ would be calling rugby league all weekend. NOT. 2MMM realise they have a bit of a league market and hence showed interest in open rights FOR ONE GAME PER WEEK but no FM station has ever expressed major interest in the code when...

    NRL RADIO DISGRACE (The article)

And just because the game is on FM, they'll listen? I mean, that's a lame argument. If an FM talk station started with Alan Jones doing breakfast, it's not like he would attract a young audience by doing so. The decision isn't great bit it's a one year deal. Clearly the interest was not overly...

4.132 million tv viewers - final results released

Exactly how does it do that? I see no figures in this thread for Melbourne. Gallop said the results were encouraging - doesn't mean they won the ratings down there or got anywhere near a good audience. Lets not kid ourselves - the interest in rugby league in Melbourne is minimal. I am all for...

    Channel 9's finals coverage

Nine did a sensational job and anyone displeased with their efforts is extremely hard to please.

This top 8 system is getting beyond the joke

The fact that the Bulldogs, Penrith and the Roosters can still make the final eight adds excitement to the game. Lets remember that these teams only have a chance because Manly have dropped their bundle - if they had won only one more of their matches in the last two months it'd be done and...

    Sports Tonight pisses me off

Sports Tonight is filmed in Sydney. It is NATIONAL show however, ie - it goes to Melbourne. So the argument is flawed in the sense that in Melbourne, people could go "hey, what is the NRL doing on first". Sportsworld is also a National show. Both programs give fair treatment to both codes.

A win for the fans: Dragons knock back a motza

Again some people on this board just can't be pleased. Tigers to play their semi at Telstra is a terrible idea some say, as it gives up their home ground advantage and disadvantages local fans. However, the Dragons not moving a game is also a terrible idea? God help anybody trying to make a...

    Continuous Call crap loses ratings

Green Machine - not believing Melbourne should be in the competition is Ray's OPINION. Which, shock horror, it is his job to give.

    Continuous Call crap loses ratings

Sorry, what I should have said was, 2GB as a station would care that 2UE beat them, but from the rugby league side of things, it's still a victory as they smash the ABC.

    Continuous Call crap loses ratings

Problem is ABC don't absolutely dedicate themselves to RL. If the Wannabes are playing, union gets the clear road and league get nothing. It should be noted that UE beating GB on a Sunday means nothing. GB beating ABC is all they would care about.
