Vautin: Parra backline " one of the best I've seen."

    1. O'Neill 2. Hancock 3. Renouf 4. C Johns 5. Carne 6. Kev Walters 7. Langer Sorry, but I suggest you look at old footage again before you discredit that backline. Some of the tries scored by that 92 Brisbane team will never be replicated. An all international backline as well. It...

Why are we playing like sh*t?

Our attack is disjointed because of a new, inexperienced player at 5/8. Other players have to get used to his style of play and that will take time. It now shows how valuable Scott Hill was to our attack in years past. Some people took it for granted. Defense is what wins premierships, and...

What goes Kick - Ow! - Kick - Ow! - Kick - Ow!

Nah Mony. Manly will finish between 6th to 8th and bow out in straight sets again. At least for the next few years anyway. Game's over now, no point getting worked up over it. After talking to the boys on the Monday afternoon when they got back, they've all got the fire in the pit of their...

    Why Melbourne will lose

Listen to the action in the middle on Sportsears, the opposition respect Scott Hill more than the fans and even some of his own teams supporters. He draws three defenders running a decoy. Why do you think Cronk has been so effective?

    Webster

Matty Geyer's level head and brilliant hands have saved our a*se on more than one occasion over the years. He is a Premiership winning 5/8, club leading tryscorer, leading tryscorer in an Origin series & can kick goals. Matt King's record over the last couple of years speaks for itself...

    Why Melbourne will lose

The last two finals that Melbourne has played against Brisbane (2004 and 2005) Hill was Man of Match in 2004 and close to it in 2005. Orford's not in the team anymore which means Hill isn't starved of the ball and trying to overplay it when he does have it. I suggest you watch the...

    Are Manly a Bonafide Chance?

Prophetic statement that. Manly fans are in for some heartache over the next few years.

Poor Mick, but who will replace him?

    Not to mention Agro.

Poor Mick, but who will replace him?

Jeremy Smith is the only real logical choice, with the possible exception of Jamie Feeney. As much as I like Garrett Crossman, we do not need another Prop. We would lose the mobility that gives us the edge over most other packs.

    VRL Grand Final

Yeah, I played for the Frankston/Peninsula Sharks in the early to mid 90's. We won the VRL Reserve Grade GF in 1991. We were coached by Tas Baiteri (ex-Canterbury and current French RL boss) in 1994.

Storm vs Parrascum- NRL Finals Week 1- CANNOT WAIT!

My wife and I went to the 1999 Grand Final and missed the party down here. There were still comatose people face down on Gosch's Paddock when the buses arrived back at OP on the Monday morning. This time we're gonna watch it here and wait for the boys to come back. Probably go to the prelim...

Live (or near live) finals broadcasts in Melbourne???

Impaja is a central Australian satellite TV station that has all codes of football. I was watching the NRL finals live on Impaja 3 years ago on Lord Howe Island, of all places. Channel 9 games come in via the satellite at the Rising Sun on the big screen when there are no games on Fox.

Live (or near live) finals broadcasts in Melbourne???

The best place to watch League in Melbourne (IMO) is the Rising Sun Hotel on the corner of Swan and Burnley Sts in Richmond. As they are a sponsor of the Storm League ALWAYS takes presidence over AFL on the big screen. Channel 9 games come in on Impaja, the rest of Fox.

Storm versus Seagulls - Cannot wait

Manly played good, especially in that first half. They were more desperate and had far more to play for. It will be a whole new ball game as from this week.

Storm versus Seagulls - Cannot wait

We don't respect money-grubbing traitors in Melbourne. Ox sooned moved away from the North-East terraces when they ran out for the warm up. I will say one thing though, Ox did play alright in the first half. If Manly can build a forward pack that can provide space for him, they'll go ok in the...

Storm versus Seagulls - Cannot wait

I'll take your Menzies, Bell, Kite and Stewart and raise you Slater, Inglis, Crocker, C. Smith, Johnson, King, Scott missing from the Melbourne side at Brookvale. BTW, Stewart played. He made 14 runs for 85 metres; 4 tackles; 4 missed tackles; 1 offload and 2 errors.

    Best tries of 2006

Inglis' run from 60m run from dummy half against the Dragons. Beating Ryles, Young and Hornby (amonst others). There was absolutely nothing on and he made some very good defenders look second rate. Webster's last second try against the Bulldogs deserves a mention as well.

    Are Manly a Bonafide Chance?

This backline is little changed to last year. What's the difference?? The numbers 7 and 3. Where are they now? That's right, the northern beaches. Scott Hill's biggest fault is he tries too hard at times when we are chasing on the scoreboard and tries to throw the money ball each time he got...

    Favourite Player

Matty Geyer is my current favorite player and close to favorite Storm player of all time. Followed by Dallas Johnson. Note that these are favorites, not whom I consider the best or most skillful. All time favorite would probably be BooBoo Ross or Danny "Jimeon" Williams.

    Are Manly a Bonafide Chance?

Any player would care if their old club gets some silverware as soon as they leave it, it would put doubt in their mind as to their ability. Melbourne could not have gone on a 11 game winning streak with Matt Orford, the pressure would have got too much for him. The best achieved was 4 with him...
