Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

No, that was it for contact sports. Specialist advice was to give it away - and that was good enough for me. Praying that Alex's condition is only temporary and that he has full movement when the swelling subsides.

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

Having myself suffered a major C3/C4 injury in a tackle, I have a real affinity for this situation. I was lucky enough to be able to walk out of North Shore hospital's spinal ward after major surgery and rehab and I'm praying that Alex will be able to do the same. Memo to NRL - PLEASE do the...

    Another Week another Loss

Spot on BG. I have been watching Mitchell P closely and 90% of his plays involve drifting across the field and popping an inside ball. I haven't seen one break made using this play. It seems to be his own trademark because none of the other halfbacks use it more than about 10% of their plays!

Aimless kicks on last tackle - Standard Fare From Roosters

Case in point. Roosters down by 12 points against Dragons on Monday with less than15 minutes to play. Comes to last tackle and Roosters are about 40 metres out. You'd expect a bomb or possibly a chip kick - but what do we get from the Roosters - an aimless kick for field placement which heads...

    Hayne headbutt=grub

The Citing Committee will also have a good look at Hayne's grapple/neck twist on Slater which triggered the whole incident. That tackle looked extremely dangerous - and could easily have caused Slater a very serious injury. If this type of tackle isn't eradicated by the NRL ASAP I'll pull my...

    Matty Johns

Can anyone tell me if Matty Johns has apologised to the woman he and his mates gang banged? Call me old fashioned, but I would have thought that an apology was in order. Maybe I mix in the wrong circles and gang bangs are accepted behaviour these days??

    Mitchell Pearce

Macavity, Probably a stupid question, but what does raises hand mean?

    Fire Up

How many people tune into the Fire Up rugby league radio show on FBI radio. Can also get it as a podcast via the FBI radio website. These guys are very entertaining and well worth listening to!! On radio, does anyone know if the View From the Hill show is still kicking around - following...

    Jason Taylor: Where to Now?

Following his unsavoury departure from the Rabbits, where is he likely to pop up? My guess is there's probably 10 or so coaches on the waiting list in front of him currently - and with only a couple of jobs coming up each year that's not a great place to be. Would any people here want to see...

    Michael Searle Rugby League Legend

Have seen alot of rugby league administrators come and go - and this guy is up there with the best in my view. Talks alot of sense and is clearly an action man. Could do with some of this at ARL/NRLlevel.

    Mitchell Pearce

Watched all the Roosters games this year, and not sure of what to make of our Number 7. On the positive side: 100% effort every game Great competitor First class kicking game Great passing game Great ability to break the line On the other side: Defensive lapses - particularly in one on one...

Time Out for kicks at Goal

Good suggestion JC. Could do with some more thinkers like you on this site.

    Interchange: Reduce to 4??

What about reducing the interchanges to 4 per team - with the added proviso that once you've gone off you can't come back on. This would reintroduce the endurance element of the game - and would swing the pendulum back to the smaller men. The current situation where huge battering rams (read...

Time Out for kicks at Goal

During the semi finals I was timing how long it took from scoring of a try until the restart kickoff. It ranged from about 40 seconds when teams are in are in a hurry up to 2 mins 30 seconds when teams are looking to run down the clock. Have look at how long Cameron Smith took to take his...

    NRL Coaching: Much to it??

I have seen NRL coaching first hand. I sat behind the coaches area in the 2005 semi final when the tigers beat the dragons at the SFS. Throughout the second half, Nathan Brown's instructions to his players via walkie talkie were very simple - 'Tell them to get it to Gaz!!!' He repeated this...

    NRL Coaching: Much to it??

Many people say how complex it would be to coach an NRL team. I just can't see it. Other than hit it up for four or five and then to the air or grubber, what else is there? Can someone name me 3 top coaching initiatives in 2009.

    Matty Johns

When can we expect to see Matty back on deck? What do the ladies think of him coming back on air. Does a gangbang really put you offside with the community in this day and age??

Rugby Union - What does the future hold??

Is this the same ByRd that has been posting about NBA tonight??? Rugby union is a damn sight closer to rugby league than NBA!!

Rugby Union - What does the future hold??

Went out to the Bledisloe this year, but left sorely disappointed after seeing 27 points scored from penalties arising out of ruck infringements and only one try. Unfortunately this has become the norm for the gentleman's game. Couple this together with the fact that a generation of kids (who...

Sheens: Semis once in 12 years!!!!!

Was brought to my attention today that Tim Sheens has made the Semis only ONCE in the last 12 years!! Believe it or not. I'd be amazed if anyone can come up with a first grade coach with a worse record over a similar period (even say 8 years).
