Roosters are a bunch of low cats taking that shot on Wing, while he was being tackled.

Of course that effected Souths defence in the first half.

The player in question, he ought to be cited and suspended.

It was reminiscent of Anasta's illegal grapple of Dave.

Shame Roosters Shame

Once again the Roosters have brought the game into disrepute through ugly and illegal play. They are a disgrace.

Souths will have to learn to defend better in the first half.

 Excuses again aye Dave?

I expected as much.

Geez it was hilarious to watch your b!tch of a coach whinge about the tackle at the press conference. Iv'e never seen a grown man whinge so much and look so close to tears so often.

That is obviously rubbing off on you Souffs supporters.

the roosters took their chances and ended up winning pretty well.

Looking at the cheap shot , it was , however not illegal , though clearly designed to try and hurt him. There was more effort by the roosters tacklers to hold him up for the shot in the the back , which was well weighted. He was on the way down , and held in the front. anyone thinking he could get the ball away , are talking through their arse. However do not see how you can outlaw that without changing the game immensely.

Some soft tries to roosters in the first 50 minutes , Roosters converted all the chances and were methodical in those first 50 minutes. I liked the way Souths finished the last 30 minutes . It would have made for interesting game in the 8 minutes , if Souths would have held out Myles ( that was weak try) and the SA try which should have been covered. Take them out and who knows .

It will be Interesting to see how the two coaches address these aspects over the season.

Anyone notice it took Riley brown the cat something like 60 minutes to make his 1st run aftyer the cheap shot on wing, the coward rightly got hammered.

Quite frankly I'm glad we punted his arse, have never rated him at all as a footballer

Er.......

He was replaced by Aubusson for the middle 50 minutes of the match mate

I just watched the replay. Nearly everytime Mason runs the ball up he is held by two tacklers and another one comes in late.... how is this different to what happened to Wing

ummmm, held up, Tupou's eyebrows go up, Riley goes in and charges his shoulder, NOT EVEN ATTEMPTING to push wing back, cause that what they claim to have been doing with the third man, pushing the opposition back. What rubbish, he smashed his shoulder and got out of the tackle

Those who are saying that it should be illegal because the only intent is to hurt, would you ban run of the mill shoulder charges too? I'm almost certain their main purpose is to hurt the opposition.

They want to ban that too, put all the players in skirts and replace the goal posts with a netball hoop.

Big difference there mate. A guy putting a shoulder charge on is putting their own body on the line and the ball carrier has a chance to protect themselves. Even if a guy is making a shoulder charger 2nd or 3rd man in when there is still foward momentum in the tackle and he is coming from a position the ball carrier can see and can brace for impact is both fair and legitimate.

What Brown did is so far away from what SBW does every 2nd week. He came after the momentum had stopped, while 2 tacklers had held up Wing and smashed him in a way in which it was impossible for Wing to brace for impact and protect himself as well as being almost no risk for Brown and no skill, technique or courage required in making the tackle. To me that is a low dog act and something the game does not need.

And I stand by my earlier comment - it was a textbook standing flop.

Freddy summed it up perfectly after the game on the Brown tackle...

THATS FOOTBALL

I also though it was quite funny when he was asked if he cared that Wing got injured...

Of course...... I'm not gonna call him though

Classic

Be a whinging bitch in the papers for a month and be prepared to deal with the consequences Wing. I would never wish injury upon you, but f**k if anyone deserved to get smashed it was you after that "they didnt say hello to me!" cry baby talk.

Short memory, Fittler and Anasta were whinging to the papers and media after Anasta got wacked.

You are truly incapable of telling the difference between a legitimate tackle and a dog ass king hit??

Yeah what happened last night really equates to the standard AFL 'in the back' charge.

Whinging is whinging. They both whinged and both matters should of been left on the field.
To Wings credit he has not whinged or said anything bad about Brown, as for Anasta what a girl and what a hypocryte. He was clapping and had his fists pumped up after the coward shot in the back.

I would love to see Anasta get wiped out for the season in round 2, just incase they pick him for NSW again, Don't want NSW to lose another series.

If the same thing happened the other way round, the Roosters fans would be having a huge sook right now, you know it and everyone else knows it.

Its in the same vein. AFL's rule started out much the same way. First no bumping the back, then evolving to no touching.

If you are scared to get hurt in a legal tackle, play a non-contact sport.

You obviously dont get it. Its not about league being a physical game with risks of harm, its about a tackle which presents almost no risk to the tackler, no skill or courage required in making the tackle, and almost no chance for the ball carrier to protect themselves.

Yeah great its a physical game and if Wing had popped his shoulder after taking a massive front-on tackle from Mason/O'Meley/Tupou then I would have said "bad luck, great shot...thats league." But that did not happen and one of the games big stars and big off-season buys is left sitting on the sidelines for at least 6 weeks from that dog act.
