What about the Tigers #6?

Or is everyone backing him to be carried off after 10 minutes again?

Some little facts...

With 12 games between them, Newcastle are up 7 wins to 5.
Six of those were at EnergyAustralia, Newcastle have won 4 of those to 2.

These combatants shared the 2007 honours and have done so throughout the past five years. The Knights edged out the Tigers in last years final round to avoid the spoon and knock the Tigers from finals calculations, while the Tigers enjoyed a rare win in Newcastle earlier in the year.

Both clubs have seen the half-century in previous battles, Newcastle smashing the merged entity 56-6 in 2001 in Newcastle, two years later at Campbelltown the Tigers then returned the favour with a 52-12 drubbing.

Why isn't he playing?

Newcastle will miss Ben Cross and Danny Buderus due to Origin duty, while on the sidelines for them is Kurt Gidley with his facial injury, indefinitely.
The Wests Tigers have welcomed back Marshall & Farah this week but still have Bronson Harrison (knee, due back next week), Todd Payten (hamstring - Round 15).

Main thing that worries me about this game is how we're losing our stars and they are getting theirs back.

I think it will be a close game with hopefully the Knights getting up.

i'm going to stick my neck out here and say tigers
TWISI it can go either way, however, because gidley is out, and tigers havent had farah, hodgoson taken for origon, plus the returning marshall (who his coach has said wants him to ignite a spark in their team, aka not playing just to get thru) and the fact this team is very consistant, and mathew head just gets strgoner and stronger (been really impressed with him) i think will be just, and i mean just enough to get thru, dont get me wrong newcastle are a good side and i really enjoy watching them play, but with gidley, cross, danny b gone, in reality they r their teams top players not doubt, they provide passion (look at gidley last week, most players would have gone off) and energy which will be a big loss for them, altho they kept mullen which improves their chances, plus they are at home, very tough to beat newcastle at home.
so my prediction tigers by 6. but it really could go either way, so this is 1 game i wouldn't bet on at the tab unless their were some v.good odds for tigers.

I think Cross being out is a huge blow for the Knights as well. He is one guy that would tear us up IMO.

Not overly confident in the tipping the Tigers, but hopefully Sheens will realise Morris and Head are in the wrong jumpers ASAP and put our strongest attacking team out there.

Danger blokes for us: Patterson, Mullen, Wes and Simpson.

Danger blokes for them: Marshall, Farah, Hodgson, Lawrence.

Would love to hear this afternoon (after a win, of course) that Heighington, Te'o and Galloway have all re-signed too.

Should be a good game.

Buderus and Gidley are much bigger blows :(

Buderus and Gidley are much bigger blows :(

Without a doubt. But we seem to struggle with big forwards who run hard with no fear.

This game is starting to feel like round 25 last year, and round 26 in 2004... playing against an understrength opposition in a game we are tipped to win. I was confident early in the week, but not so much now.

If we play to our best, well win by 30.
But that if is a big big if, weve only played our best in short bursts let alone an entire game.

With both sides at full strength, I'd have backed Newcastle without any doubts. But we're missing most everyone with a recognisable name, so I think Wests will get up here. Surprised it's only 12-6, actually.
