It's going to be a real test for Peter Wallace out there tonight.

I reckon this match will go down to the wire with the Cowboys just getting home with their 1-2-3 combination of Payne, Thurston and Bowen.

Betting suspended on Broncos-NQ match

Bookmakers across the country have shut down betting on tonight's NRL clash between Brisbane and North Queensland following speculation Broncos skipper Darren Lockyer has pulled out of the game.

Bets began flowing for the Cowboys after rumours that Lockyer would not play surfaced just before lunch time.

The only bookie still betting on the game this afternoon was TAB Sportsbet.

Lasseters bookmaker Gerard Daffy says the industry has closed shop on the game just in case the rumours are correct.

He said it was bizarre the players were heading to the ground with only one bookmaking outlet still betting on the game.

SportingBet Australia confirmed the influx of bets for the Cowboys, substantiating rumours of Lockyer's injury concerns, and also suspended betting on the game.

Brisbane will be without representative fullback Karmichael Hunt (quad strain) and should Lockyer join him on the sidelines, the Cowboys could start favourites to win.

Lockyer has played both games this season, against Penrith and the Roosters, off the bench and was expected to start tonight's clash after training solidly all week.

If he is out, it would suggest his knee injury is causing him concern which would be a major worry for coach Wayne Bennett.

It's uncertain who will start at five-eighth in Lockyer's place with Bennett having several options including utility David Stagg, veteran lock Tonie Carroll or even Kiwi international Greg Eastwood.

The weather in Brisbane is overcast with the possibility of evening showers but officials are tipping a crowd of more than 35,000 for the Queensland derby clash.

and tipping against your team for the sake of a lousy footy tipping comp is just sad.

Cowboys by 1-12
I already predicted a Cows win.
f**k this doom & gloom sh*t.
& cutie out would benefit the Broncos more than us.
They might get someone decent at the back.

Broncos up 18 - 2 at half time.

Very solid first half from the Broncos with them running in 3 tries late in the half.
Hannatt playing the full 40 and bagging a try after being knock senseless in the first 15 seconds.

Sims is going great providing sting in both defensively and in attack.

Wallace is running the show with great composure, having a hand in 2 of the 3 tries.

Much like last week the Cowboys have had their chances (esp. the first 15-20 minutes) but just can't convert.

Brisbane have only made a few interchanges so far (both props Hannatt & Thaiday playing the full 40), if the Cowboys aren't careful Brisbane may blow this out in the second half.

Cowboys = Sh*t.

Taking nothing away from the Broncos however. Murray's got another month tops if this continues. In fact, he's got a month regardless.

Its been such a long time since the broncos have had a number 7- a real number 7. Wallace is definately looking the goods. Considering that Hunt, Lockyer, Joel Clinton and Corey Parker are out injured they looking a bit ominous this year with decent depth.

History will judge the decision to sack the head coach before the season started as a the worst call in the Clubs History. In that instant all his authority was undermined, and the players stopped listening.

I find it hard to believe that Mitchell Sargent was sacked for taking drugs, yet that decision surely was made with some mind altering substances being used.

Still at least we are still the Number One worst run club in the game, we slipped from the top there for a while, but we are back up there now!!
