The best part of the game was just before the Storm came back when the Raiders thought they had a chance to win. To have that taken away from the Raiders is what makes this game great. Congrats to the Storm

Maxwell is a merkin, he allowed the storm to lay alllll over us in the 2nd 40, refused to penalise them despite our forwards dominating the tackle... yet in tackles where raiders forced the storm back we were only allowed half the time the storm had to clear the ruck

Maxwell got them back into the game with his whistle, give the storm a sniff and they are good enough to take it

Very happy with the raiders performance, they deserved to win and should have, if we play like that each week we win 90% our games, home or away.

Well i think it's fair to say the better team overall lost. Not because of the ref like some Raiders fans will have you believe though. They'll be more intent on blaming the refs when they should be applauding the excellent efforts of their team.

Didn't deserve the win but at the same time i'd rather win ugly than lose pretty. We'd want to improve a sh*tload or the Cowpats will give us a bit of a touch up Saturday night.

The better team WON Ice, as good as Canberra were in the first we matched it in the second. Didnt let them score, dominated in defence, 2 men down, yep we deserved to win.

I said it to my mate, when Crocker got the offload which lead to the Turner try that it was the end of the game. We had contained the offload all game, yet 55 minutes into the game we let one f**king offload out and they score from it and take all the momentum.

The fact Maxwell lets Melbourne play with the 5m defensive rule didn't help either.

Sink further into medicoracy with your team where its efforts for only playing half a game is rewarded with accolades.

Do you actually support a team or are you one of those bandwagoners who doesn't commit to a team in case they ever lose? You are the definition of a sh*t bloke.

Each to their own Noa, i just called it how i saw it. IMO for the most part we were out enthused and out played and the only thing that got us over the line was our experience in not panicking and a bit of ill discipline from the Raiders. Some fans will say the penalties weren't there but again, that's just how i saw it.

Thanks in large to Maxwell
Wish he had the balls to pinch you blokes once for creeping inside the 10, or not being square at marker or even holding down in the play the ball

we got one penalty in that 2nd half and to be perfectly honest, it should have been 7 or 8

Hard to tell the 10 on TV, but if we were allowed a short 10 in defence, it would be the first time this year. Most of our games we seem to be brought back 11-12 with the opposition 9-10. Been pissing me off all year.

I thought the Best call was pretty clear cut TBH, at best I'd say it was simultaneous, which is no try anyway isn't it?
As for the penalty count in the second half, that came because when the momentum shifted, the Raiders started putting second efforts in quite a few tackles to buy some time to get the line set. They weren't just holding down, they were blatant second efforts.

Having said that, I thought the Raiders were outstanding in the first half. Their ball control was unbelievable. Didn't think Carney's kicking game was anything to write home about. Every grubber was the same, going dead in goal. The attacking kicks that paid off were from the boot of Dobson, he worried me every 5th tackle, whereas we managed Carney's efforts with no real trouble

What is it with Raiders fans? Not a week goes by when there isn't a diatribe about the ref.

The paranoia is rife.

As opposed to worrying about the ref, how about some of the more genuine Raiders fans actually break down how in the fugg they let go a 16-4 lead at home :sarcasm:

Yes - you were playing the premiers.

Yes - you were missing players.

However, Melbourne were 'ripe for the picking' as they say and Canberra literally dropped the ball here throwing away two points. Melbourne were horrible yet great teams can still win whilst playing poorly.

The yahoo about the ref and the 'no try' might divert attention from the bleeping obvious, though as well as Canberra played, as proud as their fans are of them - they blew it on Monday night.

there was one bloke who blew it, and it was Maxwell.
The storm are a tough enough side to beat as is, let alone when they are given cheap easy metres coming off their line and you've got a ref allowing them to lay all around the play the ball area without being pinged.

You give the storm a sniff and they WILL take it, the ref gave them the sniff, M.Dobson provided the corridor for slater. The rest as they say is history

The real question is why it concerns you so much? You're a titans fan, top of the comp, loving life. Whats it to you how we react to the game?

thats cause we're consistantly given something to blame the ref over ;-) :D
