Just reading overnight spats - skeepe, Victor, Raider 69 - why can't you just blame your team's own inability for once? Regardless of how many metres Melbourne might of got from this or that penalty and so on, why wasn't your side good enough to defend them and keep the Storm from crossing the line? Maxwell doesn't score the tries for Melbourne, the players do - and your players aren't tackling Maxwell, they're tackling the Storm. It's a simple equation - defend well and score points and you'll win.

The problem was that the Storm were continually marched up the field undeservedly through ridiculous penalties, thereby meaning instead of being held in their own half, as the Raiders were doing to them, they got an attacking set close to the line. These led directly to at least two tries, so you don't have to be a genius to work out that they were the difference.

If they were considered penalties, why were Melbourne not penalised for doing the EXACT same thing?

Todd Carney didn't find touch on a penalty(a key turning point) and then kicked on the first tackle.
Simple tasks that a half should be able to do with their eyes closed,that's why you lost the game.

Did the ref cost you the game or was it your team on stupid mistakes?

As if the other 15 teams don't get bad calls from the ref throughout a game. Supporters have a quick whinge about it and move on. It's as if Raiders fans are incapable of doing this or they're blind to the dropped balls by their team in an attacking position or the jersey grabbing piss poor tackle attempt which leads to a try to the opposition.
