Suck it up...you lost. That's what happens when you have terrible halves and a useless backline, and miss tackles against a side that can score points from anywhere.

Your side can't be much better then afterall they've only won as many games as the panthers

The Eels were lucky to be the team that had things go their way. They fired up on the back of the decisions and put themselves in the position to win. Had luck gone in favour of us, we would have won by a large margin and i'd be very happy... so i don't expect the Eels fans not to be happy their team won, regardless of how the referee may or may not have helped them.

Had the game been a fair contest.... Panthers would have won by a healthy margin.

:lol: Panthers fans....almost as bad as Raiders fans. Cummins was terrible in general and should be dropped, but it was your sides inability to go with Parra when they kicked up a gear that cost you the game, not him.

The Smith no try-Called held up on advice from the touchie, who told the ref he had been held up. Correct call...can anyone seriously say even after all those replays that he definitely scored? I doubt it. Benefit of the doubt be damned, the touchie had a better view than the ref and said it was held up, and the ref made the call accordingly.

The 20m restart-He caught the ball in goal, what the f**k do you want the ref to do, ignore the rules when it suits you? LOL. Perhaps the rule itself needs to be looked at....but there was nothing Cummins could have done.

Finch was tackled, eh? They must have changed the definition of a completed tackle to "as soon as the defence grabs him" when I wasn't looking.

Suck it up...you lost. That's what happens when you have terrible halves and a useless backline, and miss tackles against a side that can score points from anywhere.

1. Smith you could see had the ball on the ground a metre out...he slid over without any movement whatsoever of his upper body or the ball, therefore it is a benefit of hte doubt try on that basis.

2. The 20m restart. He had one foot inside and one foot outside...that is play on. On any other day that is let go. If anything he should have let the play go and then refer it to the video ref to say "should that have been a 20 metre restart", for which the conclusion would have been try.

3. No...but the definition of a tackle surely isn't, when a player is on their knee's with 3 defenders holding him down and one arm touching the ground, is it still play on?...sh*t no. Finch was on his knee's with his left arm on the ground when he offloaded...the tackle was complete and he should have been penalised for it. If not for that, then the incorrect play the ball by Jarryd Hayne should have been pulled up. That's a total of an 18 point turnaround.

4. I will suck it up that we lost...but it doesn't mean all Penrith fans can't be pissed that the referee cost the game. In the end we lost by 8 points, factor in those 18 points, we win by at least 10.

Who knows what would have happened to Parra if we were 26-6 in front instead of 18-14 behind. Guarantee it would have been a bloody different Parra team in that last 20 minutes.

In the end if our defence was better around the ruck, we should have won, but I don't think anyone can argue Cummins put in a good display, other than Parra supporters who think he is god...I mean...their only wins this year have come when he has been officiating....they gotta love him.

There would've been a whole lot of tanties and thrown jerseys in the Parra forums.

The Parra team would've played a whole lot different in the second half, but the sorry excuse for a coach would trot out the same line-up next week.

I didn't....in fact I said he should be dropped. But the calls people are blowing up about were correct.

Johns Magic said:

Yeah...cos we didn't score any points from anywhere on the field last night...and certainly no long range tries :sarcasm:

Just because we have a sh*t halfback doesn't make our backline any less able...and you may recall us scoring 5 tries last night, some from long range?

1.. If the Ref sends it up stairs when he already thinks its held up but wants to see if the video saw anything different then it not BOTD..

2. How would the video ref allow it when its the rule to take it from the twenty meter line?? IT THE RULE..

3. He had the ball in his Right arm i am sure your allowed to reach over and score a try when you have 3 blokes hanging from you and the arm carrying the ball hasnt touched the ground.. If anythink it would have been a penalty to hayne for the panther player getting in the way of the play the ball...

4. The ref was bad but f**k me have a whinge i thought the ref wasnt the best but he didnt turn the game get over it...

Well neither of those predictions happened did they.

Pity ours did. Oh wait, it's not a pity at all

I just have to say to everyone crapping with this suggestion that Nathan Smith's try should have been benefit of the doubt - the rules clearly state that the try CANNOT be awarded benefit of the doubt in those circumstances.

The video ref was 100 percent correct. Whether or not Cummins made the right call is for individual interpretation but he thought he was held up and made his decision accordingly.

So again, for those that wanted benefit of the doubt, learn the rules.
