How did Weyman keep his spot after Origin 1? He never hit the ball up at pace, was taking hit ups from a standing start and he took a f**king eternity to get up to play the ball.

Stewart and Watmough, what have they ever done in any rep games to show that they are up to scratch? f**k even for their club this year they've been useless.

David Williams, the myth lives on. How does this useless merkin keep getting picked over actual good wingers like the Morris twins or Nathan Merritt? Oh that's right he has a beard..

Oh well atleast the side has some actual leaders who have been there before in Gallen and Barrett now and not just Wing.

Look - Staring down the barrel of losing 4 series straight could be enough to snatch a win for even a premier league side.
In saying that, that is a bizarre team with many strange and questionable selections.

christ... that NSW team will be lucky to come within 20. the halves are the problem.

having said that, there really isn't anyone else. mullen did a great job of playing himself out of origin contention against the warriors... when all he really had to do was steer the team around and kick the ball (although he had zero help from his forwards...). it seems that mullo falls apart whenever his name gets thrown up for origin...

The test this year he played well. Watmough has never played well at SOO or test level though.

The more you look at the teams, the more ridiculous the selections are. Look how many players we have from teams sitting outside of the top 8, and very few of those players are in amazing form to warrant selection.

NSW Side:
1. Kurt Gidley 8th
2. Jarryd Hayne 14th
3. Joel Monaghan 13th (Matt Cooper = 1st)
4. Jamie Lyon 9th (Brett Morris = 2nd)
5. David Williams 9th (Josh Morris = 1st)
6. Trent Barrett 15th
(Jamie Soward = 1st)
7. Peter Wallace 5th
8. Brent Kite 9th (Tom-Learoyd Lahrs = 13th... but he's a billion times better)
9. Robbie Farah 12th

10. Michael Weyman 1st
11. Ben Creagh 1st
12. Luke O'Donnell 6th
13. Paul Gallen 15th

14. Craig Wing 10th
15. Justin Poore 1st
16. Glenn Stewart 9th (Chris Houston = 8th, better player IMO)
17. Anthony Watmough 9th
(Trent Waterhouse = 7th, also much better defender)
Average: 8.58

QLD Side:
1. Billy Slater 4th
2. Darius Boyd 1st
3. Greg Inglis 4th
4. Willie Tonga 6th
5. Israel Folau 5th
6. Darren Lockyer 5th
7. Johnathon Thurston 6th
8. Steve Price 11th
9. Cameron Smith 4th
10. Petero Civoniceva 7th
11. Ashley Harrison 3rd
12. Sam Thaiday 5th
13. Dallas Johnson 4th

14. Karmichael Hunt 5th
15. Ben Hannant 2nd
16. Nate Myles 16th
17. Michael Crocker 10th

Average: 5.76

Most of the players picked from teams sitting outside of the top 8, have blokes sitting well inside the top 8... mostly in 1st or 2nd place who would do a far better job and are in far better form.

More importantly, those blokes have combinations with each other and would improve the team as a whole. Just makes absolutely no sense at all to have blokes like Joel Monaghan in the side when Matt Cooper would fit in with several other blokes and is in much better form.

Of course the average rank has nothing to do with the fact that 3 teams in the top 6 are Queensland based, plus another in there being the Storm who pick a lot of their juniors up from Queensland.

Well you lost me when I saw you had Brett Morris over Jamie Lyon in the centres. I kept battling through, and saw you think Chris Houston is a better player than Glenn Stewart. TLL a billion times better than Kite? Yeah sure Kite's low on form, but you're an idiot.

Judging by that up top, if B Stewart was fit you'd have Gidley in there ahead of him because Newcastle are 9th and Manly are 8th.

Maybe only Dragons and Dogs players should be picked?

I can't believe the NSW selectors picked Andrew Johns in 2005, I mean the Knights came last that year.

I don't get the Joel Monahan selection. What is it he does well? Actually I don't get the Stewart, Watmough, Kite, Barrett, Lyon, Gidley or Wallace selections either. Are these the BEST IN FORM players in there positions that selectors have available to them? Will the above blokes be retained after the Game 2 hiding?
