Great game. Both teams defense was incredible. Manly are starting to find their touch again. Once Stewart comes back and the rep season is over they're going to be tough to beat.

Goodwin will be on the sideline for two weeks minimum. One of the worst spear tackles I've ever seen.

Ben Roberts back to his choking best.

Disappointed in the result

But what a game, edge of your seat stuff. Even though we lost, I'm happy with the effort. Manly we're pretty much camped in our 20m zone for long periods of the match, but we held them back for a long time, but not long enough.

Well done to Manly, one of the best games of the season

I thought the Spear tackle on Yileen Gordon was worse...

Fair play, Lyon had a top game tonight

Manly with Brett Stewart would be close to unbeatable. Without him they struggle in attack.

How many weeks for Matai? A bit of a grubby game, would've loved to have seen Hannant and Idris in our team to square it up a little

Good game

Cheers,
Moffo

Matai should get nothing imo, the guy was falling and nothing could be done. In saying that he will get at least 1 week.

when teams play like that 5-10 rounds before the finals

they both normally fade out for the rest of the year and dont do any good in the finals

i think the bulldogs & manly may have played thier grand final 13 weeks early

And the comments you have made in this thread shows why noone on these forums will ever take you seriously

Doggies have been playing at a high standard all season. They have shown no signs of dropping off.We are slowly building up nicely with a coach who prepared last years team like a BJ Cummings horse on cup day.
Has to be up there with his best pearls of wisdom.

lol @ gaba. I'm going to back a Manly/Bulldogs G/F right now on the back of Gaba's posts.

I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwin doesn't get anything. Haven't seen a really good replay, but from what I saw

* Goodwin got him round the legs, not between the legs
* Robertson jumped into him to brace himself, and that's what caused the lift. Goodwin was just trying to drive him backwards.
* The "put down" didn't look too bad at all, wasn't a good replay but looked like maybe he let him down gently right at the end and he landed more on his back than his head?

I can't believe how well Goodwin is playing. Cult figure in the making.

swinging arm, he'll go with his record. he broke his jaw ffs

I could not care if he broke his jaw or not. He was falling, nothing Matai could do. If it was one of my players on the end of it I would say the same. But I agree he will get a holiday with this record.

if it's a swinging arm then it's still careless (reckless?). But was it a swinging arm or a legitimate tackle technique?
