*emerges from the Brookvale swamp*

What a game. What. A. Game. Even though we lost I was very proud of our defence, fantastic performance by both teams.
Thats right the bulldogs have missed over 50 tackles, if manly attack was on the game would be over

reason why the bulldogs arent serious contenders at the moment thier defence is still poor
over 50? 46 buddy, Manly missed 29, which isn't great either. Check stats before mouthing off like the clueless goose you are.
but its also stupid for people to say that

and teams what have played games like what manly and bulldogs did, they do normally fade out and struggle in the finals .

manly lose their next 2 games which could happen against the dragons and knights, which will put manly a game or two outside the 8

and manly will be losing touch with the 8 , then they have to play thier best football again 4 /5 weeks out from the finals just to make the finals

the dogs like manly likely to lose their next 2 games against warriors and titans, which will put the dogs nearly out of the top 4, then the dogs also have to lift 4 or 5 weeks from the finals ,

I just think that game is not what the sea eagles or bulldogs wanted
lol, you're an expert now? We've continually proven your stupidity wrong. The day you choke in September will be a sweet day.
That was a brilliant game of footy. Had a finals football feel about it. Refs were completely one-sided as usual, favouring Manly with every decision, but Manly were the better team and still deserved to win so no harm done.

An example of the absolutely ridiculous decisions by the referee was how L'Estrange's spear tackle was probably the worst of all 3 on the night, yet it was the only one not put on report.
Amen. Absolutely correct, and for once I agree with you. Two of our players are on report for spear tackles, and the one Manly player who does it gets off scot-free, it looked worse than the other two IMO. Hopefully L'Estrange is charged if Goodwin and Ennis are.
I want to single out one player for a massive brickbat though. Forget your spear tackles, forget Matai's vicious swinging arm to the head which will see him out for 4 weeks, the most reprehensible, disgusting act I have seen on a football field for a long time happened last night. Josh Perry, hang your head in shame. What an absolutely terrible sportsman you are- the worst I have seen in a long, long time. Not sure what I'm talking about? Think back to the dangerous tackle by Eastwood. As soon as it happened, Perry was pointing to the sideline, repeatedly shouting to the referee "SEND HIM OFF! SEND HIM OFF!"

Absolutely disgraceful. No player should ever be demanding another player be sent off. Any respect I had for Josh Perry has completely disappeared.
 And just like that, I go back to laughing.
Matai and Williams absolutely killed us down the right side... Cannot wait for Idris to comeback, he would've put Williams on his ass a couple of times last night.

Again i'm worried about the next couple weeks, hoping we can win ugly but we'll be depleted :(
That's what I was concerned about most, Morris and Goodwin's defence down that side was terrible. Manly read it well and kept peppering that side with Lyon and Robertson doing plenty of damage.

The big problems last night were the halves kicking games - Roberts, Noddy, Lyon and Ox were all terrible, straight down the throat stuff. For us, we struggled because the backs were making most of the hit-ups, particularly toward the back end.

And Ennis' stupid decision to go left on the last with three minutes despite Noddy standing deep to his right ready for a one-pointer? FMD. 13-all with 10 extra minutes is better than a 13-12 or 19-12 loss :x

But Gaba... rest assured we're not done with. One loss does not make a season. We sat through almost 20 of them last year from memory, I think we can handle 3 or 4.

The Bulldogs have a tough couple of games coming up. Over in Auckland next week down on troops and the following week they'll have the Gold Coast at Suncorp with the Titans started to get some of their own men back.
Titans will be backing up from MNF with Origin in between in it, I think they'll struggle.

So you can see in future now, well i have to be careful when eating or drinking in September then :D

Even if the dragons dont get far in the finals, it wouldnt be a choke because not many gave the dragons a chance to get there, at the beginning of the year

yes same for the dogs

Does that mean Minor Premiers of 2005 Parramatta didn't choke when they lost 29-0 in a preliminary to the 5th placed Cowboys?

I dont think manly is the same side as last year,i just expect to see manly or the bulldogs fade, that game would have took it out of them.

So I take it you have no evidence for your assertion that teams that have games like last night usually fade.

Thanks for coming. Exit that's way -->

"I'll make a completely random, unfounded statement, and then when you ask me to prove it, I'll ask you to do it because I have no evidence"

As Snoop said, exit's that way

You made the claim, now back it up.

That was nowhere near as intense as the Manly Melbourne fixture about midway through 2007. Both sides still kicked the living crap out of the rest of the competition however...

Just for reference, I can't believe Manly weren't up by 20 at halftime. All the ball...

A huge wrap for the dogs defence - i lost count of how many times we were dragged down with inches to go.

Was just as good a game second time round. Bring on the Dragons.
