Arms swing into every tackle. Its a high swinging arm that is a problem.

Anyway just got home, that was a great game, great crowd, and (mostly) quality football. Now to kick back with a beer and the replay.

Great game of footy. Thought dogs looked a bit one-dimensional in attack at times (mainly through Kimmorley) though Roberts looked pretty dangerous. Their goal line defence was great, don't know how we didn't score another 3 or 4 tries.

Saw my first biff on the hill as well (Manly fan probably at fault from what I gathered). The match had it all!

I was about ten metres behind that, very surprised the Manly fan didnt get booted.

Orfords kicking in general play was off the mark again. With the amount of field postition we had it should've been by 20.Twas a great win though.Plenty to work on but the signs are there ....here we come!:D

No surprise the cops show up five minutes after and just have to get statements from those involved. Hell, pretty sure a security guard walked past, had a bit of an look and just moved off again.

Also saw JWH walking around during the game with a young fan. Seems like a good egg.

lol @ gaba. I'm going to back a Manly/Bulldogs G/F right now on the back of Gaba's posts.

I wouldn't be surprised if Goodwin doesn't get anything. Haven't seen a really good replay, but from what I saw

* Goodwin got him round the legs, not between the legs
* Robertson jumped into him to brace himself, and that's what caused the lift. Goodwin was just trying to drive him backwards.
* The "put down" didn't look too bad at all, wasn't a good replay but looked like maybe he let him down gently right at the end and he landed more on his back than his head?

I can't believe how well Goodwin is playing. Cult figure in the making.

 Take off your blue and white glasses! Goodwin did the lifting and drove him into the turf. Robertson put his arm out, if he didn't he would have landed on his head and Goodwin would be in a lot more trouble than he's in already. Great game though and there will be a few suspensions coming from it.

when teams play like that 5-10 rounds before the finals

they both normally fade out for the rest of the year and dont do any good in the finals

i think the bulldogs & manly may have played thier grand final 13 weeks early

Mate that is a very stupid post.

Mate that is a very stupid post.

but its also stupid for people to say that

and teams what have played games like what manly and bulldogs did, they do normally fade out and struggle in the finals .

manly lose their next 2 games which could happen against the dragons and knights, which will put manly a game or two outside the 8

and manly will be losing touch with the 8 , then they have to play thier best football again 4 /5 weeks out from the finals just to make the finals

the dogs like manly likely to lose their next 2 games against warriors and titans, which will put the dogs nearly out of the top 4, then the dogs also have to lift 4 or 5 weeks from the finals ,

I just think that game is not what the sea eagles or bulldogs wanted

Do you have an example? Manly and the Storm played an absolute cracker of a game prior to the finals last year but neither of them faded. This corresponding round last year Manly and the Titans played another awesome game but Manly never faded. The Titans only faded due to injuries.

That was a brilliant game of footy. Had a finals football feel about it. Refs were completely one-sided as usual, favouring Manly with every decision, but Manly were the better team and still deserved to win so no harm done.

An example of the absolutely ridiculous decisions by the referee was how L'Estrange's spear tackle was probably the worst of all 3 on the night, yet it was the only one not put on report.

I tell you what though, if my team are in the finals, these are probably the two teams I don't want to be coming up against in the first week. They're both only going to get better.

I want to single out one player for a massive brickbat though. Forget your spear tackles, forget Matai's vicious swinging arm to the head which will see him out for 4 weeks, the most reprehensible, disgusting act I have seen on a football field for a long time happened last night. Josh Perry, hang your head in shame. What an absolutely terrible sportsman you are- the worst I have seen in a long, long time. Not sure what I'm talking about? Think back to the dangerous tackle by Eastwood. As soon as it happened, Perry was pointing to the sideline, repeatedly shouting to the referee "SEND HIM OFF! SEND HIM OFF!"

Absolutely disgraceful. No player should ever be demanding another player be sent off. Any respect I had for Josh Perry has completely disappeared.

Matai and Williams absolutely killed us down the right side... Cannot wait for Idris to comeback, he would've put Williams on his ass a couple of times last night.

Again i'm worried about the next couple weeks, hoping we can win ugly but we'll be depleted :(

I dont think manly is the same side as last year,i just expect to see manly or the bulldogs fade, that game would have took it out of them.

The Bulldogs have a tough couple of games coming up. Over in Auckland next week down on troops and the following week they'll have the Gold Coast at Suncorp with the Titans started to get some of their own men back.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose both but they're definitely one of the best teams in the competition. Manly are really starting to click again. Orford's kicking game still isn't there yet but Stewart will be back soon and their defense is amazing. I think I remember seeing their run home too and it was pretty soft.

there is gonna be a lot of sore blokes for the next few days, Warriors & Dragons would have been happy to see the way Manly & the Dogs ripped into each other
