I was of the opinion that Elfords bleeding / spitting from the mouth while lying on the ground after the Poore tackle, was the result of an earlier tackle. From memory, he received a knock/ heavy tackle in one of his first touches of the ball. He was a bit dusty and stayed down on his knees while a trainer attended to him.
Appeared to be a clash that involved his head - perhaps his nose, and they had tried to wipe the blood from him earlier. If the bleeding from that incident had not stopped then surely that is where all the blood came from while lying on his back and it was pooling in his mouth.
The trauma from that earlier hit could also be responsible for the eye injury.
I don't condone Poores tackle but I felt it was a 50/50 call on that one. IMO no malice or intent.
I hope he makes a quick recovery as I wish no ill feeling towards any players......except Gallen...
:)

He got a swinging arm from Sailor I think in the opening tackles. I couldn't get over the stud marks on his legs, he looked like a mess when he left the field.

Saints deserved the win but the Penrith halves destroyed the game for them. I thought Walsh was a better player than that, they really need Lewis to play the full 80 so they have another playmaker out there.

I think you'll find Saffy was also ruled out for that game against Penrith earlier this season.
We had 10 first grade players out that night, and lost Jon Green during the match.

As you can see we have not had out top 17 available often this year but have struggled to 5th spot pretty big achievment

No one is suggesting you guys haven't had a lot of injuries buddy, but we have had a lot also....and we are only talking about the guys that would be in the top 17.
Smith is possibly our best forward and missed 14 rounds.
Poore missed quite a few at the start of the year with a broken hand.
Weyman missed a few with his ankle.
Prior broke his hand then got Glandular fever.
Paea has been out since Round 14.
Saffy missed a lot with rib inuries.
Cooper has had a few injuries
Scott injured his elbow and missed 4 matches
Nightingale currently still out with a broken hand.
There are more 1 or 2 game injuries I haven't stated.

Then add the players we've had out to rep games also.

Both clubs have done exceptionally well to be where they are with the injury tolls sustained.
Penrith will remain in the 8 this season, they are better then the teams below them on the ladder, they have more heart for a starter.

Elford has been cleared of any serious injury from Poores tackle.Poore at most now will get 1 week if that.I think he has a clean record

I wouldn't imagine Poore getting in too much trouble. While the tackle looked nasty with the way Elford landed, it was clearly not intentional IMO. Poore just made a typical tackle and Elford was having a terrible run of badluck at the time.

I'm relieved that Shane Elford is healthy. Hopefully that means we are more likely to move Michael Gordon to fullback and promote Junior Tia Kilifi to his righful first grade spot. Could then use Sammut off the bench or at 5/8 where he won't be under the high ball.

This is Elliott we're talking about as if sammut will get dropped.
