I was of the opinion that Elfords bleeding / spitting from the mouth while lying on the ground after the Poore tackle, was the result of an earlier tackle. From memory, he received a knock/ heavy tackle in one of his first touches of the ball. He was a bit dusty and stayed down on his knees while a trainer attended to him.
Appeared to be a clash that involved his head - perhaps his nose, and they had tried to wipe the blood from him earlier. If the bleeding from that incident had not stopped then surely that is where all the blood came from while lying on his back and it was pooling in his mouth.
The trauma from that earlier hit could also be responsible for the eye injury.
I don't condone Poores tackle but I felt it was a 50/50 call on that one. IMO no malice or intent.
I hope he makes a quick recovery as I wish no ill feeling towards any players......except Gallen...
He got a swinging arm from Sailor I think in the opening tackles. I couldn't get over the stud marks on his legs, he looked like a mess when he left the field.
Saints deserved the win but the Penrith halves destroyed the game for them. I thought Walsh was a better player than that, they really need Lewis to play the full 80 so they have another playmaker out there.
