Regardless of whether it is unlikely or not, it still could happen and the game would be effectively over if we are 12 or more in front.

Why? We held the titans, who play nearly an identical game style to the dragons, to 6 points and ended up scoring 32.

Titans were terrible in that game. I wouldn't use that as a comparison to us if we come all guns blazing. They looked like they gave up even before the kickoff.

It's like us saying why should we be worried about the Roosters? We beat manly 28-0, and they have a similar game in attack to the Roosters.

Because they are the only team making themselves available to the media.

Bennett has his players locked up in some Fritzel style dungeon as far as I can tell.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's impregnated a few of them too. Soward looks like he'd accept a bit of stubbly wrinkled love :sarcasm:

He's the master of the siege mentality, Bennett has built a career off making his team's hated.

I'm taking as much from the Gold Coast game as I am from the Penrith one.
Nothing.

Grand Finals are completely new stories. There is no way Saints will let us play as freely as we have been playing, and it's up to us to work our way around that.

That's fine.

But Dragons fans can't complain that newspapers are only reporting on the Roosters when the Dragons have locked themselves away by choice.

Most of us don't care. When we're going well, we're usually universally despised. However, I hardly think the Roosters are going in with this underdog tag they keep on claiming to have, almost every person in the media is tipping them to win it.

I agree that the dragons are a lot better side than the Titans but my point was that they play a similar style to the dragons and our defence contained them so no reason to think that it can’t contain the dragons.

Interesting to see that the Titans played “terribly”. If the dragons had of won in that manner it would have been labelled a “professional performance” or a “grinding victory” yet because it was the chooks the Titans must not have turned up…

I do agree that the preliminary final means nothing now and we will have to improve further to beat you blokes.

Locked themselves away? Where, they've been at every function required of them and held two open training sessions, including one this morning.

Panthers were bunch of cripples as well. The only real competition both teams have faced this final series have been the tigers, and we both got up by 1 point. You can have your "so-called" momentum having won 5 from 7, and we'll have ours with the lack of momentum winning 6 from 7 ;-)

It's shaping up to be a cracker, but some of the claims by the media are getting to be pretty amusing.

Media are a joke.

Telecrap have ruined what could have been a really good lead up by running tabloid articles not worth the Womens Weekly.

We aren't releasing our players for puff pieces by News Ltd, nor should they. This week is full of PR stuff, any downtime they have should be spent preparing for the game.

I've tried my best to ignore it, when in the past (02-04) I would collect everything to read and get excited. I'll be doing the same as I have the last three weeks, watching the 1974, 1975 and 2002 Grand Final all over again in the morning.

I wish you guys the best of luck, I can't f*cking wait man lol.

The titans didn't play well, they only made 1050m, I can guarantee the Roosters will not be able to keep our forward pack that low. You can put whatever spin on it you want, they weren't a quality opponent on the day.

Against a Tigers said who defended out of their skin and we had plenty of errors compared to normal, we still made 1750m. We were incredibly rusty against the Tigers in the first half after the week off. It won't be the same sort of performance this week.

We won by 4 :D.... although it was in the 1 millionth minute.

Both teams have momentum and both teams have a real shot at winning.

Too true CMUX, too true.

As an avid Saints supporter, I am convinced we will get up. But in the back of my ancient noggan, something keeps mentioning the Roosters style of play. Vastly improved defence and open and flamboyant attack. I think for you guys, your halfs are going to have a great bearing on the game, as is Anasta.

I believe this will go down to the wire, similar to the Saints-Tigers game last week.

Best wishes Roosters.

I still believe both teams have every right to be...dare I say...cocky.
It's literally impossible to guess what could happen.
Except, it's obvious, there will be ONE moment! One moment that will be replayed for the next ten years.

Both of our sides have seen the negatives of that happening.
