FIVE RETURN FOR HOME QUALIFYING FINAL

7/09/2010 2:24:31 PM

The St George Illawarra Dragons will this week welcome back the five regular first graders who missed last week’s match for Sunday’s Home Qualifying Final at WIN Jubilee Oval against the Sea-Eagles.
Captain Ben Hornby along with Trent Merrin, Jamie Soward, Jeremy Smith and Dean Young were all unavailable against the Rabbitohs but will return to the side for the Finals Series.
Coach Wayne Bennett has left his options open naming a 21-man squad for the fixture with four to be omitted prior to kick-off on Sunday.
“It will be good to get back out there this week and play in front of the Red V Members and fans at WIN Jubilee,” Hornby said.”It was disappointing to not play last week but receiving the Minor Premiership in front of our home crowd was something special.”
Unavailable Dragons are: Peni Tagive (ACL - 2011), Dan Hunt (Achilles – 2011)

A big Dragons crowd on hand to watch the boys play some football and rack up some points. Had Manly had their full quota, this probably would have been the game of the round and could have gone either way.

Saints 34
Manly 10

Dragons by 30 however saying that ive seen miracles in my time. I remember in year 12 we lost 11 of our team for the grandfinal against a team that weve never beaten. And we won. Also Dragons choke in September choking season.

Would take one of the all time great finals performances for Manly to win this. Given their home loss to the Dogs, it's hard to see it happening.

Not exactly the most rubbish team I've ever seen named. Methinks some of these "14 players out" are in fact nuffies who wouldn't get a run anyway. The backline in particular is none too shabby. Hopoate is the only one who hasn't played 20+ games. 5 of the starting 6 forwards are rep players. I really think Manly's crisis is being overstated a wee bit. Matai, Rodney, Stewart, and King are big holes, but when you've got Brent Kite as a benchie, you've obviously got a little bit of depth to play with.

I think we'll win, but that is hardly lolSouffs we'll be facing.

???? I think u mean other way around.

I know what that result was mate - was posting what I'd like the score to be.

TBH I actually think that it's going to be closer than a lot of people are saying.

Saints by 8.

Even though i have sorted given up hope of Manly causing a massive upset, a lose will be a lose... but if it's only by 8 points i will be amazed....

It's a semi final, and for that reason I think it will be a tight affair,Manly still have alot of gun players in that side.I think a scoreline of 12-6 halftime but then 26-12 full time.

Sorry Dragon's fans. If you guys lose this one it will be a 'choke' You guys have been the dominate side all year. No forwards or Centres left for Manly (Lyon will play 5/8). a close win is fine but a lose would be terrible
