Very happy with the first half, disappointed wtih the 2nd but a win to start the season is rare for us so I'm happy to take it. Walsh's kicking game has proved a big difference here. Walsh well and truly outplayed Herbert.

Some positives to take out of this one. We clearly won the battle of the forwards. Great self belief to come back into it and it took an intercept to finally put us out.

Negatives: the first half and the edge defence. Injuries are going to hurt. No direction from halfback.

Herbert was clearly tackled early there. Should have been a penalty. Makes no difference one the end. Penrith the better team and it's time for me to eat huge servings of humble pie.

Dugan was pretty good in the second half. Campo was ok in patches. Joel Thompson was ok. Diabolical defence. Herbert I hate you.

it was a very close game though

if purtell misses that interception canberra score and probably would have gone on to win it

We looked a lot better with Waddell on the park. He doesn't have the greatest passing game ever either but he has a bit of zip about him.

I can understand Tongue playing the opening 20, I expected that but not for a whole half. That is just crazy, Waddell is clearly the number 1 hooker and Tongue our number 1 lock. I think Furner has to bite the bullet and start Waddell, if he gets tired move Tongue there for 10 minutes.

It isn't like Waddell can't defend either. His defence is pretty good. I worry more about his passing game than his defence.
