Fantastic performance from the Panthers tonight, especially in defence. Missing a lot of their influential players, made the front running Dragons look pretty poor for the most.

Gasnier did not have a good game but that is bound to happen after so much time out and the pressure he is under. Penrith played better football and deserved the win. Not a great game. Officials were pretty bad. Would be a great game with both full strength squads. Will be another clash this year and it should be better.

gasnier is out of his depth in Todays NRL shows how much it has lifted and/or how easy it was in union . Either way he will need a fair bit of game time to get to speed in fitness , ball skills the lot .

Jeez I thought Super Simmo's last try was pretty iffy at first, looked like there two arms under the ball at all times to me, but he did put it down at the end there..

It took the Dragons 55 minutes to realise the football field was more than 10 metres wide.. and when they realised, they looked dangerous, but it was way too late.

Penrith were the much better footy side tonight despite the close scoreline.

The Panthers deserved the two points.

A lot of players out from both sides so too much cannot be read into the result.

Tim Grant reportedly suffered a serious leg injury, if so, he will be a huge loss for the Panthers.

Great win for the Panthers. Their defense was top notch. Dragons should stick with going to the left instead of trying to get Gasnier involved. He's way out of his depth at the moment.

Tim Grant has a suspected fractured leg. :(
