Penrith's 2nd last try should never have been awarded. It amazes me that referees check just about every try these days, especially from kicks. So why wasnt that the case last nite? One week from the finals and the refs still cant get it right...

Unfortunately shocking refereeing including a send off for a love tap ruined what was a very gutsy win for Penrith, and could be the real turning point in their season.

I really wish Penrith good luck for the finals series. If their team can stay up there mentally, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Dogs losing on the final play of the match after giving up a 16-0 lead.... well I guess that just sums up your season. Hopefully Noddy and Patten get to go out with a win next week.

Your unstated premise is that there is nothing aside from that decision that had any bearing whatsoever on the outcome of the game (the words "sole reason" in your conclusion imply this unstated premise). Unfortunately for you, this premise is a load of bullsh*t, meaning your conlusion is as well.

The simple fact is poor decisions don't decide games. They can certainly help one team or the other, but except in the rare instance where the decision is on the final play of a close game (ala Saints-Dogs last year), it cannot be said with any justification that a referee is soley responsible for the outcome of any game.

Spot on. Our 3rd tackle of the game 3 in the tackle strip on Petero missed. Bulldogs score. Instead of us having a penalty and going on the attack we conceded an early try.

Possibly that Waterhouse try was a no try but there was plenty of rubbish calls to both teams. As for the Charge down it was sweet it went upstairs to call it. In sports ears you heard Burns say I've got the field goal he tipped it and it came off. That could of bounced to the Bulldogs

1. I knew we would blow that 16-0 lead. We always come firing out of the blocks and once we are in the lead we play safe instead of playing the same way throughout the full 80 minutes.

2. I can't understand how the majority of tries these days are sent to the video ref, yet the Waterhouse try wasn't. It wasn't even a normal bomb-catch-try, it was bomb-fumble-try. Not to mention the ref was standing right there to see the fumble. Absolute joke.

3. I was shocked to see that it was Petero who delivered that high shot. Never would have expected it to be him. It's definately not his go, just a brain snap. Deserved to be sent off though.

4. Roberts is a f**king goose! I have been saying for years that he should be banned from kicking the ball. He should be a centre or not in the team at all imo.

5. Whoever will be playing the Panthers in the finals will be licking their lips.

Roberts tried the in-goal grubber because it worked on Gordon minutes earlier. Stupid, but I can see why he did.

With the second last try (you'll probably need to see a replay to test this theory and I doubt anyone can be bothered) did anyone else think that it hit Tighe's hands, and then hit Tighe's shoulder? I think it might have been a bit of an optical illusion that it hit Earl.

That was what I thought too but I put it down to black tinted glasses. Couldn't see why people said it was a knock on but they still should have referred it.
