Had this discussion with my father a year or so back (he did an umpiring course), and he assured me that an appeal covers all dismissal forms and you do not have to specifically appeal for a certain out.

I don't think the fielders should have to appeal for anything at all, I think the umpires should do their jobs and call anything that is a wicket out regardless of whether or not it is appealed for

That's right. Brett Lee did not intentionally impede Sachin's line of run. Also, Sachin could've easily changed line WELL BEFORE he got to Brett Lee, but he chose not to and ran into Lee. Correct decision from the best umpire in the game, Simon Taufel.

Man, I'd LOVE to see India get beaten tonight and on Tuesday, hence having an early ticket home. NO WAY do they deserve to be in the finals given the way they have played in the tri-series. Sri Lanka and Australia have been undoubtedly the best two teams in the tri-series. Sri Lanka have played well, have a fantastic side and will be difficult to beat.

Tendulkar has got no reason to sook. Lee was heading towards the ball and stopped because he saw Davey was closer. No problem with that.
