This is a tough one, that's a fairly average looking Penrith backline! I was leaning towards them at home, but Newcastle might get them. Knights by 14

I can't believe this cripple fight is the first Sunday Channel 9 match of the season, when you have Dragons vs Titans, Storm vs Sea Eagles and Bulldogs vs Tigers in the same round.

Cripple Fight? :lol::lol:

Surely the Raiders V Sharks would be more fitting of that title... but hey I'd rather the Knights game to be on fox, at least its live and dont have to sit through 5 min commercials

Agreed. Dogs v Tigers is close to (if not the) game of the round.

Remember that Fox get to pick games 3&4 (?) though....

Ah f**k. Just saw our ref is Ben Cummins.

Why do we consistently get this f**khead.

Knights by 20. No matter who plays.

I always had this pencilled in as a panthers win, however after seeing that the teams being elliotfied I'm changing my tip to the knights.

Pretty sure I lost count the amount of times Mr Cummins f**ked the Knights over last year ...

NRL Previews - Panthers v Knights (Round 1)

A lot to like about the Panthers at home on a Sunday, especially with the forward pack they have. Kevin Kingston is a favourite of this blog and will hook the scrum with one of the games most promising young front rowers in Tm Grant, and hooking his other arm over one of the greatest ever, Petero Civoniceva. This could be enough to give Luke Walsh and a healthy Lachlan Coote the space they need to score plenty for the home side.

These two clubs have a history of playing in high scoring matches, especially when conditions suit as they should this Sunday afternoon. For the Knights, not much has changed from last year; Chris Houston and Neville Costigan will toughen them up, but keep an eye on Beau Henry. The Knights five-eighth makes his first great debut after starring in the under 20s competition. His first experience in the NRL will be to listen to Travis Burns sledge him for 80 minutes. Enjoy.

My Tip: Panthers 36-26

Logic says penriff, gut instinct is to tip Knights.
Toss of the coin job, usually high scoring games between these two.
This game didn't deserve Cummins that's for sure.

Penrith on the back of field position from a better pack and the Walsh high ball with Coote, Gordon and Lewis getting after it.
