LOL he is saying your supporters are complaining about the ref decisions yet he made a thread about it.

Mate what are you on?? I was simply stating that it is funny that the Panfers fans are whining about the refs when decisions went against both teams.

Shall I spell it out for you so you can understand?

Are you kidding ? Read your post again; and don't call me a keyboard hero just because you have nothing to argue about.

Petero deserved to be binned. He deliberately held the player down because he knew if he got up and played the ball they were screwed. That's a sin bin any day of the week in that situation.

What was with the disallowed try? For starters as far as I'm aware and from what the commentators were saying they can't even refer that to the video ref in the first place because it was in the play the ball, secondly why were the referees then allowed to stand there and watch the replay on the big screen before making their call? Very dodgy.

LOL @ Panthers supporters blaming the ref.

The Anasta one wasnt a strip it was a loose carry

lachlan Coote clearly grounds the ball on the deadball line. Why didnt they look at the closest camera angle more than once?

We score a try and it is disallowed because a panthers player stripped the ball?? WTF?

You start out with a biased and incorrect summation of one incident, follow it up with a biased and incorrect summation of another, and finish it up with a breath-takingly poor grasp of the rules.

Anasta attacked the ball. The video referee had no option but to rule it a strip.

One angle of Coote's try showed inconclusively that he may have been out. Two other angles showed that he was probably in. The very definition of benefit of the doubt.

No Panthers player stripped the ball, Carney dropped it cold. Regardless, the ball came loose between the held call and the play the ball. Basically this means play is dead until restarted with a play the ball. As Carney lost control before the ball was played, the only possible outcomes were a scrum (which would have been the correct call) or a penalty (which was incorrectly given). Either way, the play the ball and what followed was considered null and void. I suggest you learn the rules to save yourself from further embarrassment.

The referee was a joke, two of those tries to Roosters should have been penalties to the Panthers. Petero is binned for a nothing tackle while there's high/late shots going on all around the place unpunished.

That said the Panthers were shit and the Roosters were the better team. By far. But in all honesty the Panthers backline is easily the worst in the NRL. David Simmons and Adrian Purtell are the worst wingers running around, and Brad Tighe is an average first grade player. I think he'd be solid on the wing, but he's not suited to the centres IMO. I think Vaivai is easily the star centre/winger, and he's a young kid who's still inexperienced.

We need to get rid of Simmons and Purtell atleast. Push Tighe out to the wing. I'd like to see:

2. Ryan Walker (has pace, can't be any worse then Simmo or Purts)
3. Michael Jennings (surely he'll be fit next week, if he was a chance at playing Origin on Wednesday)
4. Junior Vavai (way more promising then the rest of our backline IMO)
5. Brad Tighe (has pace. Tries hard... beats Simmo and Purtell easily)

I still don't know how we've won any of the games we did since Gordon and Tahu went down against the Broncos. Our sides on paper have been awful but looked decent while playing. Today we played llike our team on paper should play IMO. We have a strong forward pack that has hidden our weaknesses. Our halves are ok in ideal circumstances, but under no circumstances are our backs any good. Bring some pace in.

The referees were poor for both teams, that said Panthers were more crap than us and we deserved the win with a strong attacking game.

The refs were shit & the chooks got a few good results out of it. That said we were worse than shit & deserved to loose. I had a feeling we would play them back into some sort of form.

Lol skeepe you pathetic piece of shit you'll give yourself an aneurysm soon, hopefully.

Lol @ Pamfas fans blaming the ref, f**king mongs
So i take it you don't think Coote was taken with a high shot in the lead up to the Roosters first try (tackle was around the neck, should have been on report ffs)
Or that Anasta didn't strip the Ball when Carney scored? (90% of the time that would be a penalty whether it's a loose carry or not)
I also take it you saw a hand in the play the ball where the Roosters lost it and got a penalty?

Referees didn't cost Panthers that game. They were sh*t and awful in defence. But the referees sure as hell gave the Roosters a helping hand. How is it blaming the referees when you point out several obvious calls that they got wrong?

The better team won without doubt. If anything the margin flatter the Panthers. But that doesn't mean the referee can't have also been bad and played a part in the way the game went. :sarcasm:

What's everyone's opinion on Coote's last try?

On the sideline angle it looked like a try, but on the front on view it looked like white on white. Thought that was weird when they only showed that view once.

Originally I thought no try as I thought he grounded it short of the line, thinking it was the try line not the dead ball line he was at.

On replay though (realising it was deadball line and not the try line), some angles looked on the line, others just inside it. Didn't think it was conclusive either way, and that's usually enough for BOTD.

Although it's probably 60/40 that he grounded it on the line rather then just before it. No angle was ideal to tell where the ball was. So Coote could have been lucky that's the case.

Hard to admit but the Roosters deserved to win. The refs weren't great but they are usually pretty bad anyway, you come to expect poor decisions.

The recent wins went to the Panthers heads and they didn't turn mentally or physically today. Really, it's amazing we'd won 4 from 5 coming into today, given some of the absolute nuffies that are in our starting 13. Please get Simmons/Purtell out of our team, lol.

You dim wits all missed Nathan Smith's push in the back on Perret to allow Coote passage to the ball. Should have been no try on that basis.

BS. Penrith were the best side. Goosters got home on the back of very dodgy refs calls.
