peahearts.

Manly turned up with a reserve grade side full of enthusiasm.
Roosters turned up with a Grand Final side with no respect for the football or the opposition.

Lazy, undisciplined, no direction. it took us 10 minutes to complete a f**king set. Seriously, 3 f**king rep halves and not one of them could lead the team around when needed. Other than Mose and JWH, the forwards were non existent with the outside backs doing all the hard yards. I know this has been a constant tactic since Smith took over, but ffs when it's not working it's not working. So many times in the 12 months the forward pack has been missing when we need to turn the momentum around.

Manly were a bit sloppy, less so than Easts, but simply wanted it more. Excellent enthusiasm and some top notch work from Foran won the game for them. Congrats. Manly won't slide as far as most have predicted based on that effort.

On the game as a whole, the first half was one of the worst i've ever seen. A compelte mess from both sides and the ref. Completions would have to be around 50%.

The tone was set on the first hit. Our forwards assumed they'd piss it in against a pack with plenty of unknowns and got well and truly hammered all day, then they all checked out and decided to let Perrett, Linnett and BJ do all the hard yards getting us out of trouble.

Pearce has surely taken a back seat to Mullen after today as well. Sure its only one bad game (horrible, woeful actually) but he has plenty of competition now and all things being equal his grip on the NSW 7 jersey has been lost.

Anasta was probably our best, looked dangerous whenever he touched it and was actually tackling with some venom. Pity the rest of the pack couldn't follow the captains lead.

Still, I'm not too worried. Better that we actually get done in one of these close games instead of luckily pulling a wni out of our arse and thinking all is well. We needed a reality check before taking on the dogs next week and this should do it nicely.

Full credit to Manly as well. They were clinical and energetic and just executed nice simply footy. Exactly what you need at this time of year.

Pearce is not in the top 5 halfbacks in nsw

If the roosters want to be a threat they need to find a new halfback, smithy will lose his tactical rep if he keeps pearce at halfback

We've had plenty of 'wake up calls' in the past but keep doing it... not a more frustrating thing to go through as a footy fan..

Pearce was the leading hand in both our tries.. The whole team was in a bad psyche was just disgraceful

Can you do everyone a favour and just f**k off? Every post, last edited by Gaba, is you dribbling about Pearce. We get it, you're a hater and you've said it all before so f**k off or sing a new tune.

I hate how the Roosters always went for the miracle play every single set in the second half. We needed composure or a settler set and the always went for a stupid offload/kick/miracle pass. And Leilua is not a winger, IDC how he played today.

Great to see players from Under 20's like Hoppa, Foran and Buhrer come into their own. Hopefully DCE and guys like Lussick and Cunningham will follow.

On Pearce - lets not take away the NSW jersey yet, it was his worst game in a long long time and he still got 2 try assists. He just needed to take charge and direct the game. Instead, in what was probably the moment that sealed the game, he threw a bad offload to nobody on the Manly line when he should have just taken the tackle and maintained pressure. 30 seconds later he was flattened by Foran, SKd dropped the ball next tackle and was hooked, Manly score and seal the game. Hopefully he learns from it.

Pearce struggles to lift a struggling side. He's great when his pack is starting to gain momentum which is why he still had a few decent highlights vs Manly, but the minute Manly defense started thrashing the Roosters side he basically went MIA.

If I were a Roosters fan I'd be more worried about Carney, had one easy run to the try line and did absolutely nothing from there, very dissapointing from last years dally M.

It was Carney's first game back from injury though. He's clearly not at 100% otherwise he'd be taking the goal kicks. I wouldn't have been surprised if he didn't play today. The forwards just didn't lay a platform for the halves.

I honestly thought the Chooks would win by 20 today. Excellent bounce-back from Manly, sounds like Roosters were pretty farkin ordinary
