So... How much do you have to pay the refs for a try these days qld? Did inglis's and hodges's cost the Same?

Sadly refs have been getting such decisions wrong for a few years now. Nothing new.
No conspiracy either, just over analysis be the video ref.

Is this the closest series since 1991?

Have to say being the Blues I thought we needed to score first in the second half, did so well to hold the Maroons tryless in the second half, but the first half let us down. If it was 8-4 up or 10-8 down I wouldve been very confident.

Well done to the boys for coming so close, at 20 all there was a real chance to win it or draw. I think next time they need two more props, having only props really took a lot out of Tamou and Grant, they needed a lot of go forward at crucial times.

The Morris twins are outstanding and should be there next year. Josh scoring a try and saving one, and Brett scoring one himself after making an early line break.

Have to feel for Farah after his drop ball, cant really blame him for the loss, he played so well.

As a NSW fan I've got to say the refs weren't bad. Fifty-fifty on the shepherd, and they probably could have pulled the Tate incident up, but none of those are worth complaining about in my opinion. I will say however that as a NSW fan, I think Origin is dead.

Corey Parker should be first picked next year, his offloads are major

Farah unlucky to fumble the ball at the end

Must have been close for nsw player of the series between gallen and Farah -especially as both clearly outplayed Nate Myles who won the qld award on tv . As for the game and series nsw played the best they have in the 7 years and were beaten by a better halfback and team that has experience winning that's all. Yes the ref made bad decisions but we had our chances in game 1 and 3. Unfortunately spine v spine only Farah outplayed his opposite number, steward was solid v ingles dynamic, thurston did the business although carney was great given its his first series while cooper Cronk was better then a poor Mitchell Pearce unfortunately. Our starting pack was better then qld all series. Our outside backs more then held their own across the series. Our bench was probably the other part qld nosed ahead Lewis was awesome, Williams has potential watmough awesome despite the injuries but Creagh was a waste of space 3 games in a row. But overall the real difference over 3 games was the experience of winning series and the halves

Origin is now just a vehicle designed to advance the interests of Queensland.

They recruit whoever they wish, they get the rub of the green from the refs, they limit ticket availability in Suncorp to maximize the advantage for themselves.

For the second year in a row they get a decider at Suncorp with all the benefits of a retiring players hype.

We are f*cked in the head for givin them a leg up, everything seems set up to benefit them.

If NSW had of won 7 straight, they would be demanding rule changes, we won 3 straight and just shrugged our shoulders when Qld picked Inglis.

I've been watching Origin since the '80s and this was a great game to cap a great series. Can't believe the fools who say that Origin is dead. Stuff like this only makes it bigger. NSW lost because of their sloppy defence late in the first half. Otherwise it was in the bag. Can't be bothered rating all the players but the one that stood out for me for NSW was Tony Williams. Can't believe how slow his hit ups were. Looked like he was half asleep. Not to mention that absurd pass he threw late in the second half on the first tackle to give possession back to the toads. Talk about over hyped - wasn't he the beast who was going to terrorise the toads and leave them scattered all over the field?

The Williams high tackle call on Cronk was just as decisive as the Hodges debacle of a try.
The amount of high shots that weren't called prior to that made the call ridiculous.
Also Tate's blatant dog shot going unpunished was criminal.
Two holding down penalties out of nowhere also proved costly.

Excellent exhibition match. The team with most of their players from Queensland did very well. The young NSWelsman playing for them at fullback was very good indeed.

People who have parents closely related can rejoice! Their cousins won a game of football. That should alleviate some of the doldrum of living in Australia's version of Alabama. The banjos will be playing all night.

I have to disagree with everyone, I thought the Hodges try was a fair call. Very poor defence from the Blues.

If you are going to criticise the refs then maybe you could argue they allowed Qld to much latitude in the ruck play the ball but otherwise they didnt cost us the game.

Whether we like it or not, we lost it, too many mistakes giving Qld good field position, poor kicking game again and they played a more expansive game to create opportunities whereas we attempted to play the mistake free game with one out hit ups.

I really think Pearce is a good NRL half but perhaps on the evidence of the last two origin series maybe not up to SOO. Maybe Peter Wallace would have been the better option with a far better kicking game. I wouldn't blame Pearce for our loss but our kicking game in all three games was generally poor.

The biggest f**k up by the selectors was not having a single specialist prop on the bench and relying on two rookie props. I mean honestly what the hell is Ben Creagh there for? He's never done anything of note in origin and more importantly he's a specialist wide running backrower, if you see him play for St George he only plays within a 5m corridor on the left hand side, we had 4 wide running backrowers on the bench and the 3 backrowers that started the game are typically 80 minute players. Merrin definitely should have played, not because I think he's a world beater but he's a damn prop

Beau Scott got to a point where he thought either Hannant gets it or Hodges passes because Hodges can't run behind Hannant. You can see once Hannant gets in front of Hodges, Scott back pedals anticipating a pass which creates enough space for Hodges to get through.
