Wait, so is there any logic or reason behind this statement at all, or are you just dribbling shit because the Knights have Bennett and the Dragons don't? How can you possibly say that after the first game of the season on a wet night, with new coaches, a new fullback, and a 2nd rower playing in the centres that the Dragons wont improve...

What did you expect in round 1 on a wet night when both teams have got new coaches and a lot of new players in their teams? An game of finals or origin quality?

don't give me that new coaches rubbish, your head coach may have changed but I can tell from watching the game that the system's haven't really changed, knights on the other hand..

I expected better game, that's what I said when I posted and that's what I remain to have expected, a better game. Need I clarify this more for you?

What's with the Buderus hate? I thought he played well. :S

You know how Skeepe hates Hindmarsh because of his devotion to Tongue, even though Hindmarsh was always the better player...well it's that way for Tigers' fans and Buderus.

They always blamed Buderus for Farah not getting a shot in Origin. Then when he did, he embarrassed himself and got usurped by Ennis

It's an unhealthy obsession that obviously still hurts them to this day.

Buderus was one of the better players for the Knights last night. Severely let down by his teammates not running off him when he took advantage of opportunities.
Great win for us. I think people are getting abit carried away writing off this team this early, particularly after a win away from home against a more fancied opponent.

I am a Tigers fan and I have no issue with Butterball.

I used to hate him based on the ramblings of that Half Baked Tard "The Chief's" unabashed man love for him but as a player he was/perhaps still is top shelf

Agreed, esp. on the chief. I did however think he was below par last night, but if anyone expected him to come back after 2 years in the ESL at his age and immediately dominate they were kidding themselves. He will get better, like most of the Knights side.

To me he looked puffed out after 10 min, though that applied to most of the Knights forwards.

Yeah I have to agree on the Chief, he made me cringe the way he used to talk up our players and make them sound bigger and better than they actually were. I vaguely recall him saying on the Footy Show that Milton Thaiday would one day be an Origin fullback

I don't think Bedsy will be "another Orford". To begin with he was far superior to Orford in terms of skill when they were both in their prime. Second he has one of the best coaches in the business who will figure out how to make good use of him - I think it's obvious he will need to be rested at intervals, he's not an 80 minute hooker anymore. He won't set the world on fire, his time in the representative arena has truly come and gone, but I don't think he will let us down at club level either. Bedsy wears his heart on his sleeve and will see out the season.

Bringing him back as the heart of the side was a great decision.

Every side needs one when so much change has happened

Wtf Timmah?! An early peak for us? You seriously think we can't play better than that?
Would help if you kept reading the rest of my post.
Knights were off the pace, the scoreline flattered them. Some derp errors aside from Cuthbertson and Stanley, the Dragons looked good, Soward had a solid game. Good to see a bit more variety in attack from them too.
Cuthbertson plays for Newcastle Kungl :p

Well played Newcastle, was a high quality game in the conditions (raining and humid).

I've got little doubt that Newcastle will be in the 8, their strongest side looks good on paper and Bennett will get them working.

Very happy our boys came up with a win up there last night. Hunt back in a few weeks helps us, and hopefully Chase gets some match fitness up quickly so we can move Beau back to the pack also.

Well played by both sides.

I really hope not, not looking forward to a weekend of watching teams drop the ball.

i think the dragons are lucky that the knights played so poorly and it was raining otherwise it would of been a diffrent story just my opnion

The Dragons completing their sets at 100% and also taking advantage of every single attacking opportunity helped as well.

The Knights looked really good with Hilder on the field. Buderus coming back on cost them the game. They looked unbelievably poor when he was on.

Did Chief also say that?

I remember Matty talking him up, saying he would be the ideal fit to replace Minichiello. The problem? Milton was a Queenslander.

Chief's biggest derp moment came in 2005 where he passionately put forward a wild card system to ensure the in-form teams would be involved in the finals. I don't think Sterlo knew how to react to it.

But that's a whole other topic, I really enjoyed the game last night. Both teams showed plenty of positives and negatives and there was a lot of drama. A perfect opening to season 2012.

I could easily be wrong. My memory of who said it is a bit vague. I just remember the "Milton for Origin" discussion and figured it might have been Chief, considering how pro-Newcastle he was during his time with the show.
