I actually think he has done well carting the ball up. He is the only one who hasn't been monstered by the defence so far. Morris and Dugan have been pushed back five meters on multiple occasions, Merritt is singling out defenders and getting to the ground quick

Im not writing him completely off. He should do better as qld tire but we miss someone like Blakes physicality. That's all im saying. Merritt hasn't necessarily been as bad as Morris. The right side has struggled and its not just Merritt..

Don't talk sense, Morris twins are protected species.

f**k, 30m out from their own line he had to come in on GI because Morris was nowhere.

Its not Morris's fault either specifically, the whole right side defence is standing back on their heels. Merritt is instantly exposed to an overlap. He has shut down the play twice and been exposed once for a try. If the defence was sliding he wouldn't be forced into this decision

Its obvious already though Merritt will be the scapegoat for this match, as if its his fault we have 40% possession, a terrible kicking game and no field position.

You were going well till you mentioned Mullen. Reynolds is the form half mate and deserves to be in a sky blue jumper. Pearce hasn't found space from a kick at all

Quite obvious not many people watch Knights games. Don't blame them as we are boring as f**k.

Would be happy with Reynolds/Mullen. Should have been that from game 1.

I believe Mullen leads the comp in finding grass with kicks. What we need.

Lol at anyone wanting Adam Reynolds over Pearce. Inglis is obviously making the whole souffs team look good as evidenced by DUD MERRITT.

Pearce couldn't out kick a one legged man in an arse kicking contest.

Obviously.......that's why Souths have won both of the matches during the origin period when Inglis was missing.

Yeah he had loads of opportunities. Made 14 tackles and missed none and took a hit up in each set NSW had the ball when he was on the field off his own line. What do you expect him to put in a chip and chase and score length of the field?

Of course. Every new NSW player must put in an 11/10 performance or they should never play Origin again.

Bring on Josh Reynolds,he can't do any worse then Pearce

I can't stand Reynolds but this actually has to be crossing Daley's mind. Why f**king not? End his origin career now Laurie and hook him. We've seen enough. It's too predictable.

Make the change Laurie.

tbh NSW have conceded points from 2x Maloney penalties and a Jennings penalty. The combination of three penalties, 3 kick-offs and a couple of repeat sets meant Queensland totally dominated possession. That's about the story of the match.

I can agree with you there. We lack size in the wingers, and a guy like Merritt is useless with these halves. The ball wont even get that far out in this game

I imagine Mullen or Reynolds would have gone for the 40/20 by now, it hasnt even occurred to Pearce and Maloney

Let me remind everyone that Morris' preferred side is the side that Jennings is on. He's a lot weaker on the right side, even in club football.

Yeah, it's not like Inglis ever beats his man one or one and it's never a good idea for the winger to jam in on him.

There was a pre-existing agenda and if you have one of those it's easy to twist every scenario in your favour, then pick out 2 or 3 alleged eras, mix in a little bit of typical Origin hyperbole, and call it a shocker.
He was caught out of position and that is why the try was scored.
