The last 5 matches played in Penrith have seen Newcastle win 4 times

Newcastle in fact have won 11 and drawn 3 from 19 starts at Penrith. Newcastle lead 10-8 at Newcastle.

The Knights have been something of a bogey team for Penrith in recent times, winning the past 4 and 9 of the past 12.

All of which is irrelevent. Perhaps more relevant is Newcastle's away record this year- 2 wins from 8 starts. One of those wins was at a neutral venue. Only once have they got up when playing before a hostile crowd.

Whoever is fair dinkum about their run to the finals will get this one, imo. Penrith are weakened... and conversely the Knights are getting blokes back week by week and starting to look near full strength. We should win, and win well... but our general modus operandi is losing those matches and winning the ones in which no-one gives us a chance.

Who the f**k knows... but I hope we have a really strong win here away from home and start looking like a team that can do something in the finals. There's been good glimpses through the year... but if we're genuine, it needs to be every week from here on. Knights by 16.

Injuries proved a blessing in disguise so far for us allowing Moylan and John to play. We're yet to see injuries really undermine results which shows we've got good depth.

Newcastle typically win at Penrith then again most season that they win there are ones where Penrith were in poor form. We've won 7 from the last 10 so hopefully the stat will get better for us.

The Panthers took the Eels lightly last week in light of this upcoming fixture being on their mind.

And you guys want another surprise?

Watch when we unleash Jeremy Latimore and Ryan Simpkins.

We wont be losing anything with these two coming on.

Actually,I'd prefer if they started.

So Panthers to once surprise again to the tuuuune of 24-16.

If not,we'll be still in the hunt for the eight,so no panic there.

This injury toll is ridiculous. Do we have confirmation whether it is a fracture (like Sammy) or a break re Robinson?

Whispers that Penrith seeking exemption to debut Cartwright. (Edit: Sauce is back and named for windsor. Would expect to see him play if Cartwright cant debut).

It's a shame not being able to see a full strength side take the field. I'd like to get a taste for what Cleary sees as our strongest 17, and to see how we play with nobody down and out. Hopefully, we don't begin to run out of steam towards the back end of the season - A finals berth would be a nice surprise.

It's hard to imagine us churning out wins with players still dropping left, right and centre, especially come finals time if we're still around.

I've actually tipped against Penrith the last two rounds. I have to tip against us again. Which means we'll probably win :sarcasm: but a win this week makes our season very interesting.

Yeah, this is the type of game the Knights traditionally lose, so they probably will.

I'd say your multi is pretty safe. Panthers have only ever won a single game with Wes Naiqama in the team, and that was Round 1 against a Raiders side that was miles off the pace at the start of the year.

I have no idea what the coach is thinking choosing him when Josh Mansour was available. I swear if it wasn't for injury we would still be seeing the same side that lost 5 in a row at the start of the season picked each week.
