So disappointing. Crap kicking game, big guns go missing, forwards who didn't go forward, although some credit to the Ockers for that, no penetration out wide. Kudos though to an amazing team who just continue to win usually easily.

Well deserved champs.

Australia is the best. We didn't let them for, got points on the board and they panicked. We didn't allow any kicks to get away clean. We shut down everything. Always annoys me when good defense is classed as the opposite team not firing.

This. Defensively the Roos were outstanding during this tournament.

I'd rate both BMoz and Boyd over Falou imo.
No. I'd rate Yow Yeh over bmoz and boyd, and if he didn't break his leg in half at least one of them would be missing out. Likewise if Folau didn't piss off to union, even with hodges old and injured bmoz and boyd wouldn't get a look in if both those guys were still with us.

Hayne to me is far more devastating @ centre than Hodges, agree with the rest.
Hayne is better than Hodges for sure, but Hodges in form is very good and good enough to hold his spot and put Hayne on the wing. Hayne is also an incredible winger, and it's fitting for the roos to have grossly overqualified wingers, that's a luxury we should be able to afford but we couldn't this year.

Satisfying win. Class combined with commitment is very, very hard to beat. I was present to witness the debacle in 2008, which adds that little bit extra to the sweetness.

You and me both mate.

Was right up there as one of the most disappointing nights as a Rugby League supporter.

Absolutely happy with the performance, just a shame I couldn't be there to witness it live.

England generally have a sense of respect for sporting events. I think that's part of what makes cricket at Lords so special for example. Yes there's always dickheads in every crowd, but the crowd acknowledge good play above all else regardless of who it comes from.

Won't get into soccer crowds though. f**king savage, lol.

Well the actual performance of the backline I mentioned, and others where yow yeh and even uate were wingers, was better than the performance of this backline with boyd and moz and cronk in it. Those are 3 stains that stop this from being the best aussie squad assembled, not to even look too deep into the forwards, because we've always been missing a few pieces there.

Bmoz is underrated on this forum. I think he's f**king awesome.
Agreed. I'd like to concider myself fairly rational and not to one eyed when critiquing players. B'moz is safe as houses, fast, agile, has a decent chip, eats meters, great finisher and positional player. I don't get all the hate for him? What do people actually expect more of a winger?

So why do you concider Morris, Cronk and Boyd stains? They are all proven winners, and can all be clutch players when needed..

You're right he's a solid first grade winger. Safe, quick, good finisher.
The Kangaroos should be able to do better than that. It's not even a critique on Morris so much, just noting he's a normal guy who is a really good player but we should be able to field a huge athletic freak, that's also a really good player and safe, quick and a good finisher. One that will blow your mind scoring tries no one should be able to and saving tries no one should be able to. Ridiculously powerful, agile, creative and acrobatic as well as that other stuff. Someone like Hayne or Inglis. Your ideal dream team would have Hayne and Inglis as the wingers, but then who would be in the other positions?
Folau was good because he was approaching the freakish athlete stratosphere, it's a shame we lost him.

No they aren't.

I love how NZ had exactly one player at their disposal that was comparable to great aussie outside backs, and they didn't use him. Lol. Talk about deserving to lose.

Kearney and Cleary as coaches. Inu had zero chance.

One of a number of baffling selection decisions, BUT there wasn't a selection they could've made to change the result of the final.

I think this game goes to show that NZ need more players in the NRL.

They obviously need that coaching and experience to be able to get up for more than one game in a row and the intensity the Australian team are used to playing was just too much for them.

With the NRL coaching they would at least be able to score a try... ;-)

Yeah, World Champions!!!

Deserved win by Australia, NZ were poor but Australia finally lived up to their potential. Hayne was fantastic. Inglis, Slater, Thurston, Cronk & Smith were too. NZ's forwards looked overawed. SBW was terrible. NZ's selections (namely Locke, Goodwin, Taylor & Kasiano) got what they deserved. And putting Whare to wing instead of Goodwin when RTS went off? Idiotic.

Great crowd. Great to be a part of a test world record. And well done to the majority staying for the presentation unlike in 2008. And applauding Smith & the Aussies that they had booed all game. Good to see the English show appreciation for great players and a great performance.
