Something I'm wondering about the Sharks: Is Flanagan worthless?

If Shark fans (and NRL fans in general) think they'll be as successful this year with a bloke who hasnt been a head coach in 11 years as they were last year with Flanagan, then what is the point of Flanagan?

To organise team trips down the coast.

It's rd 1 mate, we have injuries, anything can happen.

Need a bit of faith in your team

Yeah I agree. I'm a Titans fans too and it's Gold Coast fans just giving up on the team like this that could possibly cause us to be removed from the NRL again. I know it is frustrating with the coaching and management issues at the club right now but we need to have faith in the team and support them otherwise the club is just going to turn to shit

Cronulla have quite a few injury concerns (Carney, Heighington, Gibbs, Graham and Ryan). I am beginning to lean toward a Titans upset here.

This will be a test for the Shark's depth, but they'll win it by a few.

Remarkably, we have 5 players with some first grade experience (a season or two to many years) as halves. Sadly, 2 of them are injured, possibly a 3rd, and 1 of the other two is a pedestrian half. Still, that is more depth than we've had in the halves than probably ever.

We used to have more forward depth, but it is still all right. Missing three international (well ex international in 2 cases) back rowers AND Graham from the back row, and still quite a reasonable forward pack.

But there is no doubt our depth is being tested. Rather now than the finals.

Yeh, it's only Rd 1, so it is the best time to have any injury crisis.... If there is ever a good time.

Lets hope most (except Robson, Lewis & Tupou) are back next week.

Just to further deflate the team, Fifita will announce his signing with the Bulldogs 1/2 hour before kickoff.
Titans by 20

Yeah, I'm changing my tip to the Gold Coast who are going in under the radar. If the Fifita departure is true, this will have an obvious negative impact on this team who are already missing Carney, Ryan and possibly Graham who I have a rap on.

Sharks fans, will we see Michael Lichaa? The depth of the Sharks will be tested and the loss of Peachey will be felt here (another I have a huge opinion of as a young player).

Did I hear somewhere, Wade Graham to 5/8 ?
It's not as ridiculous as it sounds. He played there for us, went OK. I know he's grown a bit since then. Ah well, good luck. I'll stick with the Sharks by 6.

It has nothing to do with us 'giving up on our team'. It's just reality. There is absolutely nothing that's changed over the off-season for me and obviously other fans to believe this team will be any different to last year, or the 2 years before that. Even our off-season signings have been worse than last year. So long as Searle and Cartwright are still there I don't believe anything is really going to change.

Given the injuries and other disruptions to the Sharks though I do think we're a chance now.
