Commentators waxing off about the Warriors defense keeping them in the game. Really? If their defense wasn't so shit they wouldn't need to make so many scrambling saves.

What are you people on about? If that's not an 8 point try what's the point of the rule. As blatant as it gets. A high tackle is a high tackle. And he wasn't "falling" into it, is he not allowed to go down to try and score the bloody try?

Take back my comments earlier in this thread. You are a genius.

I think the 8 point try was fair but I still hope the Eels shock the rugby league world and win here. Prove Tomkins to be the overrated out of his depth nobody that he is.

Terrible calls all through this game - at least we know the officials haven't changed

Warriors shouldn't be so close but they will just roll on from here for a comfortable win

Have you never seen the Warriors play a second half. There will be nothing comfortable about this for us

I thought that was the case too.

Looking at the wording of the rule, seems like the correct call though.
Code:
Possible Eight Point Try
If a player fouls an opponent who is touching down for a try, a penalty kick at goal shall be taken from
in front of the goal posts after the attempt to convert the try.
Touching down includes:
a . In the act of scoring; and
b . Until the try scorer regains his feet

Did the ref say that 8 point try's are for illegalities committed when the player is in the act of scoring?

Yes which is the truth. It can happen during or immediatly after. This is an imaginary rule people are using to say it can only happen after the try is scored.

For mine that was a bullshit 8 point try. Its inconsistent with how the rule has been applied previously. There's illegal shots that aren't penalised in the same circumstances every week. They're usually penalised as the ball touches the ground or after it does.

Why are we (in NZ) getting so many ads for Dragons' membership packages?

What happened to the rule when the clock stops in the last five minutes of each half after a conversion? It should have stopped after Johnson took conversion ( not the penalty ). But no the clock kept on ticking for nearly 2 mins then no kick off. WTF

Last 5 minutes of the match I thought
