In all seriousness though, I know you guys are hurting because you're on the bottom of the ladder and your season was in tatters before it began, but you seem like a decent lot.

If anything this thread has proven that even you guys kind of know it was tainted. Such staunch defense generally comes from a pretty insecure place.

I bet if i had this arguement with a Broncos fans they'd probably just laugh and ignore it... not you guys, you guys have to come and try and defend it, because even the fans, in their heart of hearts know they were not the best RL team that year and had they faced a full competition wouldnt have sniffed a premiership.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you haven't been watching league long.

The best team for the year doesn't always go on to win the comp. We weren't the best team in the ARL for that season. Manly were. However, on the day when it actually counted, the grand final, we beat them. They were supposed to smash us but they didn't. There's absolutely no tiny piece of reasonable evidence that Brisbane would have beat us either even though they might have been "supposed to". Just like how 4 years later Parra didn't smash us like they were "supposed to".

Face it, you guys have nothing to stand on. The fact that you've resulted to "well even you guys must think it's tainted if you're arguing with us" makes that pretty obvious.

This thread has gotten so long because Knoughts fans so desperately want to ignore the fact that, in terms of success over the past 10 years, you've had just as much as us.

Now you want to talk ancient history, but there's just one problem. The Knoughts never had a dynasty like the Raiders did. The Knoughts were never in five grand finals over an eight year period.
