If the ref can't clearly see the ball on the ground, there is no conclusive evidence that the try is scored, and so it is no try. Like I said, common sense says that's a try, the rules say it isn't.

If they can't see the ball there's no evidence to overrule the onfield decision no matter how likely it is to have been a try. The rules are clear. The video referee got it right, and looked very hard to find evidence to overturn it.
