Lol @ Easts fans pointing at penalty counts when EVERYBODY knows giving away tactical penalties is a key part of their defense.

In all seriousness, I know Easts will get up and knock out the last remaining non NSW team to make it a beautiful and pure all NSW preliminary finals week.

If Cowboys get a fair go with the refs they can beat these NRL loverboys, haha.

I don't give a stuff about people wanting to see the Roosters-Rabbits rivarly renewed for heavens sake, it's 2014 not 1914.

This is going to be a tough game for the Cowboys.

I would have been more confident playing Penrith, and not because they aren't in red hot form (because they are), but being a young side a loss would have knocked there confidence a bit.

The battle hardened Roosters are a different story, they have the confidence and experience.

Im genuinely concerned about this scoreline blowing out massively. But I take some solace from the fact that we always play well when people think we wont. I also agree with DQ that if we win this then we could win the whole thing.

Which bit of it being about the penalties the Roosters don't receive rather than the ones they give away that you don't understand. The Roosters have RECIEVED LESS penalties than any other team in the comp this year (& something outrageous like 60 less penalties than Souths). Is that a key part of the Rooster's defence as well, to not receive penalties??

If the refs are fair dinkum the penalty count should be cowboys 72 roosters 1. Anything other than that and the cowboys will be ripped off.

We all know it.

As is consistent with my take on officiating, I respect the fact that on field refs can make mistakes.

But I cannot abide the consistent, monumental blunders made by the video ref.

Conclusive evidence should mean exactly that. Yesterdays decision, along with a host of others during this year and prior, prove that they are not adhering to this guideline.

CONCLUSIVE FRIGGIN EVIDENCE!

Other than that my only hope is to not notice the refs. We expect no favours.

Roosters give away alot of tactical penalties to stop teams attacking momentum. Stats aren't everything.

What part of the word 'receive' do you not understand? For one, theyre not even the most penalised side in the comp anymore coz if u actually watched their games you would realise that most penalties they give away are early in the set at the other end of the field. And two, I think it's a pretty telling stat when they have received more than 20 less penalties than any other side

Friday is my birthday so i'm praying that the Cowboys can smash the Roosters out of the finals in style.

If not well i'll settle for a late birthday present when we beat them the week after ;)

This is our gripe:

Penalties received:

Souffs...........199 (I thought it was 200, my apologies!)
Titans............173
Tigers............162
Storm.............161
Penrith...........160
Canberra........158
Cronulla.........157
Manly.............157
Cowboys.........157
Bulldogs.........155
Dragons..........152
Warriors..........152
Knights...........151
Broncos..........148
Eels................139
Roosters..........120

Look at the difference between the Rabbits and Roosters. Massive outliers.

So again, no need to worry about the refereeing, Cowboys fans. We rarely receive more than 4-5 per game.

f**k me dead, are you still whinging about this. What a f**king pedestrian, your team won the comp, are still nut deep in this one and your f**king on about penalties.

I hope the penalty count against you this week is 178 - 2.

My apologies - I stated earlier that Souths had received 60 more penalties than us. It's 79!!

Tommy - how many posters will now come charging in telling us how ill disciplined we are??

Gotta keep fighting the good fight for the little men :D

There's a clear bias against the Roosters by the referees. Stats prove this beyond all reasonable doubt.

Such confidence.

Surely given the certainty of a souffs win against the roosters in week 3 you would be hoping for a roosters win this week. I can?t imagine any souffs supporter could find a more satisfying road to their first GF in modern history than fluking a win against their much more professional and successful rivals?

Hard to argue with cold hard facts. The myth that we give away penalties on purposes somehow explains the above though. When that fails ?ruck dominance? is cited as the next reason.

Except for Sonny Bill. They must think he'll job them if they penalise him.
